I made this buckboard bacon after reading a conversation here a while back and threw it in the freezer and forgot about it until this weekend.

It turned out great! Unfortunately it’s been so long I don’t remember the exact recipe. From what I remember it was your basic bacon cure. I held it about a week in the fridge prior to smoking.

It gets pretty curly when cooked so I’d recommend a bacon press

I may have used this recipe but it’s been so long it’s hard to say for sure.

Joe Hell dang man is there anything you don’t dabble in? That looks great! I should get my Waltons order this week so I will be making snack sticks and kielbasa over next weekend but you can bet I may try making this bacon too!

Process seems simple enough and results look 10 times better than anything from the store!!!

A Weber is the best place to do chicken. Did some wings this past Sunday. Might post a pic.

Dadgum it Joe Hell!! I had to go look up ‘buckboard bacon’, WOW!!! Interesting. Thoughtful and I’m going to try it. Came across a recipe from ‘Old Fat Guy’ that I thought I would give a whirl. Might take some pictures, too.

KansasDad I think that’s the recipe that I used but I can’t say for sure. I wish I could remember who on the board first suggested this type of bacon

deplorablenc1 It is! I’m twenty minutes from the brewery. I think you drink Spotted Cow here is because it’s the only place you can. Also one of my favorites.
