I tried the JD Triple Mash tonight and it is good. I’m not a big scotch drinker, but that is what it reminds me of. The malt and rye come forward in this one. I personally like the less expensive regular bonded JD, but there is nothing wrong with this one either. For you malt and rye fans, this would be worth a try.

Had a stout in a bar in Minneapolis over the weekend, made with a bourbon barrel, very good. Place is called Surly’s.

bocephus Andy & I have been in South Carolina & Georgia doing building inspections for the past several days. Found a few interesting brews along the way, as usual. More for fun than the absolute best taste, but will have to show a few photos before long. Had names like Damned Yankee, Sunspree, Mr. Stingray, Son of a Peach, etc.

The cancer returned to our cat & he died today with too much fluid on his lungs. He fought hard, but just could not take it anymore. I may have to have three more! I am not sure we are going to take on any more animals now though, as it seems for about the last 20-25 years we have lost most all of them to cancer, that I used to rarely see in animals other than chickens & one bull & now we see it all the time & on ours as well.

I’m so sorry. It really hurts to lose a pet, as they aren’t just another animal, they become part of the family.

Beer: anything from Treehouse, Trillium, and just about any craft lager. Booze; I’m a big bourbon guy. Bulleit, makers Mark, basil Hayden‘s Elijah Craig all great. cocktail I’d go bulleit rye Manhattan or a jack and coke.

kyle Thank you, we really appreciate it. We rescued him as a stray, a Ginger Cat about five years or so ago. He had to have his leg cut off about two years ago, but still stayed tough as ever & active, until just the past few days. Then it came back with a lot of fluid in his lungs this morning, early. It was weird because he came running to me & stood up on his hind legs & wanted me to pet him & scratch his chin immediately when he was apparently dropped off about five years ago or so. Really strange, because cats just typically do not do that to me. For instance, someone just dropped another stray & he runs from me, even when I try. Gato came a running to me & he was a real champ to with rats, mice, squirrels, & unfortunately Chipmunks. Yes, we are seeing way to much of that stuff. I try to get some answers out of the current vets, but not sure I really ever get the whole, straight story. I think they are afraid to say anything for certain.
