What did everyone cook today?

gus4416 a lot of it stems from when she had her gallbladder removed. Some of it stems from the crap she eats during the day when she works from home in the basement. Lots of processed crap, I tell her it’s not good for her as well as the doctor, but it’s in one ear and out the other. I make nutritious somewhat healthy dinners for her and she picks at things and doesn’t eat the good stuff every time. After 20 years, I don’t expect change, so I just make subtle suggestions, very subtle. If we have unhappy wife, we have unhappy life.
johnsbrewhouse My wife is retired but sets in front of the computer half the night and does the same thing . At one time where we used to live we could get a organic share of vegetables when we did that the stomach problems went away but I can’t convince her that was true so I am with you I just let it go we do eat pretty healthy and I don’t eat junk so we just do are own thing
-
johnsbrewhouse do you make your own white sauce or do you use packaged gravy mix?
kyle Sacralidge!!! Gravy is so easy to make, but I have at least one sister that I know uses a package product. I do have some packaged goods here for my wife to use when I am gone. I just shake my head.

YooperDog I just make a white sauce and go from there. I think the packaged stuff is way to salty. Somewhere on this site I posted my white sauce recipe. It’s so easy and can be used for so many things

Made some bratwurst and potato soup, I used Blue Ribbon brats for it. It doesn’t look like much, but its delicious.

Made an apple crisp yesterday.

Tex_77 looks like a tasty dessert, using granny smiths?

tTex_77 Looks like a soul warming dinner. Just getting ready to make some Blue Ribbon along with some Hatch Green Chile.

A little Dave’s Damned Good Chili for a cold weekend. Or, Uncle Crock’s Chili, depending on how good it is. This week it is Dave’s.
How long has it been since you’ve had some? That’s too long… -
Tex_77 You had me at the soup and then you throw in dessert on top of it!! It all looks delicious.

Habanero BBQ ground pork jerky strips.
This seasoning is amazing. Definitely my favorite so far.

johnsbrewhouse Now that is strange, I could not eat red chile, I liked it, but I would be in pain if I ate it, had my gall bladder removed and now I can eat as much as I want.
-
kyle Everything from scratch. Add flour to the sausage once it is cooked, then cook it for a bit, then add cream and milk and thicken, season to taste. Easy as pie.
johnsbrewhouse I have a nephew who was going to make it for deer processing day but said he didn’t know how to make the gravy. After I told him how he said boy that sounds pretty simple.

bocephus She can’t eat certain types of lettuce, says onions give her problems. I feed them to her all the time without her knowing most of the time, they are sweet onions and cooked, its raw onions, yellow and red onions that give her trouble. I thinks some of her problems is the other junk she eats downstairs.

Sir, you have great will-power to set a single short rib at the dinner table.
