This is twice in the last week Amazon has sent me extra stuff. I ordered a cover for my smoker last week and they sent 3. Ordered seasoning for the chezits and they sent 2. Only charged me for 1 each.

So no matter how much sausage, BBQ, bacon, or jerky I give to friends and neighbors, they ALL say that these smoked Cheez-Its are the best thing I make. It is kind of like Chex-Mix in theory and they are fantastic.

I basically make 3 Costco sized (48oz) boxes at a time with them split evenly between two hotel pans.

        Recipe is:
        2/3c Avocado/Olive Oil
        1/3c Kikkoman Soy Sauce
3 TBSP Hidden Valley Ranch Powder (reg or spicy)
        1 TBSP Garlic Powder
        1 TBSP Onion Powder
        1 TBSP Black Pepper
3 TBSP McCormick Honey Sriracha Seasoning (found at Sam’s club)

The Honey Sriracha is the wildcard and can be a swapped for anything you like. Have done Weber Garlic Jalapeno, BBQ rubs, etc. Just watch salt content. The rest is the “base” of the recipe.

Just combine the liquids and pour over Cheez-Its stirring to coat evenly. Then mix all dry ingredients and sprinkle over Cheez-Its and toss to combine (do this in 2-3 batches).

Then I smoke at 200F for 2 hours stirring every 20 min or so.

If you want to make a standard size 12.4 oz box of chez-it, the recipe breaks down as follows:
          1 box Chez-it 12.4 oz
Olive oil - 2 Table spoons
Soy sauce - 1 Table spoon
          Ranch seasoning - 2 teaspoons
          Garlic powder - 3/4 teaspoon
          Onion powder - 3/4 teaspoon
          Black pepper - 3/4 teaspoon
          Sriracha - 2 teaspoons

It was all I could do to not eat them all before the smoker got up to temp! The taste even moist is great. Can’t wait to get them out of the smoker.

I am not a honey fan so I didn’t use a honey type seasoning.

Grimpuppy OK, No Problem. I just saw the recipe name as Honey Sriracha, so I was looking for the honey & how you got that flavor in them. The sweet & hot does sound nice though & with cheese it sounds even more interesting & complex.

Jamieson22 They’re not completely done yet, but I’ve been sampling everytime I turn them. They’d are so good and still have an hour to smoke. I used the honey Sriracha I found on Amazon that I posted earlier. It’s a great flavoring. Thanks again for sharing.

Jamieson22 ok sorry to bother again finally got all the ingredients to make some of these smoked chez-it’s. Here is the question if I use only one bag out of one box of chez-its would that amount of chez-its call for one application of the list of ingredients? Or is that to much seasoning?
                              Thanks

Jesser Which size box? If a Costco/Sam’s sized box (48oz) I’d use 2/3 the amount of seasoning listed as my recipe is for a hotel pans worth which is 1.5 Costco/Sam’s boxes (3 sleeves).

The recipe is for 3 sleeves/bags. If you use 1 sleeve/bag the recipe would be 1/3, if 2 sleeves/bags the recipe would be 2/3, if using 3 sleeves/bags if would be full recipe.

Jamieson22 OK. I think I’m addicted to these cheezits. This is the third batch I’ve made and they just keep disappearing. Not sure where they go but I had to let my belt out a notch.PXL_20220126_184116671.jpg

                                        wdaly LOL Love it!
Time to upgrade to larger batches. Doesn’t sound as bad to eat 1 batch vs 3 😉
Also buy Ranch in the big container. Costco/Sam’s sells pretty cheap.
