craigrice Oh man…I would LOVE to get my hands on some moose! That is one thing I’ve never tried. I’ve got a little stash of game meat going in hopes of a future landjaeger or salami experiment.
Joe Hell I live in Maine if I cook it and don’t tell the grandkids they think it is beef I want to make summer sausage out of it

craigrice my dad once tricked us into eating Rocky Mountain Oysters…we just figured they were seafood. Lol.
We have had a fair amount of moose in our area the last few years but I don’t think there is a hunting season in Washington. At least not in my area.

craigrice i know a custom processor in upper peninsula of Michigan that swears his moose summer sausage is better than beef or pork! Now, this is a man who also insists that bear is better than wagyu so take it with a mountain of salt!

Joe Hell you cant really understand how big they are until you see them in the wild. Closest I’ve ever been was about 100yards and that was as close as I feel the need to get to them!

And to answer craigrice initial
Question I had a vegan Mac n cheese sauce ( my wife makes its incredible) over chicken with a garlic and seed loaf of bread last night. Then tonight it was fake crab meat, which I freaking love! Just a dollop if butter in a hot pan then some captains bay seasoning, great with rice or without it and I have a nice ribeye planned for tomorrow! -

craigrice Jonathon
My friends and I had the argument a few years ago. So we did a taste test. It’s not fare, but we seasoned and bacon wrapped… moose, bear, venison, and beef. All from Minnesota, and similar loin cuts. We grilled it all the same and had a blind taste test.
We could’t tell the difference between them, except the moose. It was sweeter and a little chewier. It is all in how you take care of the meat block in the field…in the opinion of the group I was with. -

Joe Hell they are huge…I had one sneak up on me when I was fishing in Alaska. Needed to change clothes …if you know what I mean.

Dave R I have seen some pretty intense encounters on video. I worked in the archery industry for over 10 years and the stuff people would send me was pretty insane. I was offered so many hunts over the years I couldn’t even count. Unfortunately finances never allowed. If only I could go back in time…
