Tex_77 While I am no fan of potatoes that does look good! Does anyone have a good recipe for a tomato bisque?

HerbcoFood LOL on the hockey puck. Banned!!! Darn Libs. That’s why you’ll see pretty much only Vitamixes and Blendtech’s also in Smoothy shops. In that comparison done by some group, both of those models were basically equal in all aspects including pricey.

zbigjeff Thank you. I am going to have to check that out. I thought about getting a new one when the bowl chipped last year, but Margaret really like her old one & so I gave it up. However, the day may come before long as that thing is over 40 years old, although still going strong. Does the Vitamix have a glass bowl or is it plastic? I need to go get me some dinner now & give it up. Have a good evening, what very little is left of it.

calldoctoday The Vitamix is polycarb (which makes it shatterproof) and has different bowls for liquid and dry. They better be sturdy because they cost around 150 for a replacement.

Just threw my boneless butt on the smoker this morning for it’s long sleepy smoke towards it journey to pulled pork. Brined it for 24 hours then just salt and pepper and some seasoning on top. Got it’s twin brining for a ham for 14 or so days. Trying to make some space in the freezer and finding the lost souls in the very bottom of the chest.IMG_0235.JPG IMG_0236.JPG

Cold weather has finally set in so I whipped up a couple quick batches of soup in my Vitamix.

Dr_Pain Half the salt. Half cup of salt to a gallon of water, ham seasoning, brown sugar and pink salt for weight. Yes, it is a boneless butt, it come out pretty good and no bone to worry with and it was cheap at the time I bought it.

Surg If Blendtec doesn’t have many recipes, look at the Vitamix site. You can get a start there for sure and then branch out. Many are less than 8 ingredients. It takes more time to find the stuff in your pantry then to make. Just have fun with it.

Last night was that night for me. Meatball Sub literally thrown together. Just needed to stop for the crusty rolls at our favorite bakery.

No. A canned Prego sauce that I amped up with a palm full of small dice garlic, crushed white pepper and a “liberal” shake of Tony Chachere’s Creole Seasoning. Nice combine. Would do this again.

I’ve been a bit under the weather the last couple of days so today I made Cream of Ham and Potato soup.
Started off with the trinity and just a bit of garlic.
                                      20211103_160840.jpg
Added a roux to thicken, then the ham, and after all the veggies were soft added a pint of heavy cream.

I got this from YouTube. Search for 2 Guys & A Cooler, S02E24 (Season 2, Episode 24). Eric has a lot of great recipes.
