I was driving myself NUTS trying to find a cheaper alternative, so I figured spend the money on Thermoworks SmokeX4 or spend the money on counseling.

The reasons I went with this option is

    • Reputation
    • Quality Product
    • High and Low Alarms (when I hack my pellet grill to smoke since I don’t have a dedicated smoker and can’t do the scheduled temperature cycling
    • The only one I found that CALIBRATES. I am neurotic about the minutia and coming from a biochem background I need instruments I can depend on to the 1F

Dr_Pain Hard to go wrong with Thermoworks, I’ve used my thermopen for at least 7 years

Teach a man to fish and he drinks beer for a lifetime

Hey guys… I’m getting tired of buying wireless meat thermometers on Amazon only to find they have big temp fluctuations. Or the probes crap out after a few uses. What’s the best one to buy?

BubbaSmoke1963 - I use a meater Plus most of the time on shorter cooks (4 hours or under) - It works great. On longer cooks I like to use my I-grill 3.

Life is a Garden - Dig it.

I got the 4 over the 2 because with the discount of 10% for signing up as a new customer the difference was $26, about the cost of one probe

Thermoworks Black Friday sale. These are the Smoke X units both 2 and 4 channel. These are good for over 1 mile line of sight signal. https://www.thermoworks.com/smokex4?trk_msg=K31TP67V0K1KH9JM78J6JLP6HG&trk_contact=RBAO2GTT4M7P1TCJEMVM9UVNQS

Idaho Smokey Go for the 4 channel. I kicked myself because I only got the 2. Reason: You can reverse sear 4 steaks to 4 different temps when company comes over. Don’t kick yourself for not choosing it.
