I burned on up with a rapid flare up. Also bought the whole bridge off ebay and a probe and bridge were not working. On the flair damage customer service replaced free. In the two others did not warranty(not original buyer) but gave me 1/2 off replacement. When everything works I like it.

If/when this one takes a dump, I’ll give warranty a try but if that fails I am going to switch over to Lavatools Javelin. I got one of those for each of my brothers, they seem to be a really good instant read for a fraction of the cost of Thermoworks.

For my pit thermometer, I’m using the original fireboard. A local farmer’s son is one of the founders and they are based out of KC. They’ve got a new unit out now, which looks like they’ve added some new useful features. The original one that I have does have wifi and bluetooth transmission to the smartphone app, programable high/low alerts and saves charts of your cooks.

So I pulled the trigger on a new meat thermometer and after listening to the many comments on here about the best ones I decided to go with ThermoWorks. Before I go and spend big bucks on a wireless one I thought I would try their ChefAlarm first. If it’s good I will move up to their dual probe models. Let me just say that right out of the box I feel this is well made. It doesn’t feel cheap like oh so many I have purchased from Amazon. I think I have a winner here. Thanks to all who replied to my question. I’m knew to this sight but I think I’m going to like reading all the posts and comments.
