Well my little experiment was a success!! The last pic shows how squishy. The amount of mince left over was little and was a breeze to stuff through the horn

Dr_Pain congrats, Looks like you may have nailed it.
I see squishy balls are non toxic and besides they will not contact the mince for long

I did clean them and sanitize them with iodophor before using them so since they are thermoplastic the likelihood of a cross contamination is small. They are Non-Toxic, BPA/Phthalate/Latex-Free so… worse case scenario and the get pinched or split and I lose a small chunk into the mince I can fish it out and all is well.

Dr_Pain that looks like the best option so far. Looks like I need to visit the PT folks where I work. Thanks for sharing.

Actually you can pick those up on Amazon. You would have to visit someone that works with sensory reintegration to have something like these and not many PTs specialize in that. Most of the stuff I use at the clinic have graduated levels of squishiness and most often are puttylike not a perfect sphere.

I washed them with plain ol’ soap and water after I was done. Before I was done I washed them with soap and water and used Iodophor dilution as per instructions.

I take the leftover and form a log close to the size of snackstick I’m making and throw it in the smoker with the rest. Just have a little skinless snack stick

Dr_Pain I’ve taken a smaller stuffing tube, covered it in plastic wrap and used that to push the mince out of the original tube. Works pretty well with something you already have on hand.

bocephus If you didn’t let it sit to marinate in all the seasonings, then let it sit overnight and then make patties for breakfast.
