The Feedlot looks delicious. We are a ways off from fresh corn here.

Yeah, I vaguely remember something about that. No idea where to find it though.

Anyone see that Isreal is now growing cultured pork that IS Kosher? Wonder how they are going to square that in their minds, seems to be a workaround honestly. I don’t keep kosher but had a few friends growing up who did (who are all in good shape still i might add, maybe they were on to something) and I don’t think their parents would have approved of this. I’ll reach out to one and let everyone know what they think of it.

Or, if anyone here eats Kosher let us know your thoughts!

Jonathon Just read the Old Testament, or the Torah , will show that while being the chosen ones, they have been trying to do a workaround for about 4000 years.

What I do know is when I had my last restaurant, Wednesday’s special was a Bacon Cheeseburger. The Rabie at the Synagogue that I did a lot of catering for always made it a point that he got the Special on Wednesdays. His son never approved.

Glad there is a way to share pork with or brothers and sisters.

tarp Yeah I drove from Houston to Corpus on Saturday and the amount of water sitting in the fields is wild to see, I just hope it dries out quickly so the crops don’t get ruined.

Chef Where was this? I am wondering if there are different levels of “strictness” to being Kosher in different areas.

Jonathon This was in Spring, TX. Kosher is strictly defined in the Torah. People either follow it or not. I know some people that only follow a few of the rules, but they are not following a true kosher diet.

When I cooked for this group, when I did a Kosher meal, the Rabbi was present and they had the special pots and pans necessary to maintain kosher tradition.
