Jon's Journey (not as good as Joe Hells)
-
So, not a good couple of weeks, for those who didn’t see the pic of my wife’s cake she baked an amazing cookie butter and buttercream frosting cakes, absolutely delicious. I was also out of town for a few days with limited working out options and around people drinking. Still, not terrible results and I will be back at it. We have nothing coming up, Brutus is going to require that I do nothing but work and take care of hm for a few weeks so I will use that time to rededicate myself!
Weight 195 lb. So, put some back on but not as bad as where I started out. Not going to beat myself up about it, I just have to get back to it ASAP!Jonathon You are right about not beating yourself up over a little slip. The goal is keep working at it and remember your goal is not going to happen overnight.

lkrfletcher strict keto?

lkrfletcher strict keto?

lkrfletcher not sure why just my tagged name popped up or what it means when Jon pinned it? I don’t think I would do the “strict” keto. Seems to unhealthy to me basically starving yourself with no more than 20 carbs per day, egg fasting, and 24 hour fasting with no food among other restrictions. I did what they call dirty keto and it worked wonderfully besides the excess tarter build up from the high protein.

twilliams What did I pin? If i did that, it was in error but I think it’s the gremlins behind the system! Good job lkrfletcher 6 lb in 8 days is good! Yeah twilliams I did a dirtry keto too, I like carrots to much to go totally keto.

I just didn’t know what it meant when a pin happens?

Ah yes, I pinned the topic to the top of the waltons blog sections, sorry, I thought you meant where lkrfletcher just tagged your name. Sorry, I’ve been up at 3 on Monday, got 4 hours of sleep monday night, then 3 last night, plus had a new employee (thank god) to train today on website stuff so I am basically loopy as all get out right now!

Jonesy Always going to be challenges, have to take your wins and your losses and move on. This Saturday we did about 10 hours of yard work (I know that sounds like a lot but I love working in the yard) and then was too tired to make anything so we ordered a pizza. I didn’t beat myself up about it, just recognized it as a bad decision but something that is going to happen and moved on. I will “check in” with #s tomorrow.
Luckily Saturday was nice because it has been raining in Wichita for basically 2 weeks, the sun came out for 1 day and then back to gray all the time, looks like New York in the winter just without the snow!
Jonathon as much as it pains me to encourage the Blue Leader, one thing to think about is that you worked for about ten hours. That might have offset the additional calories from the pizza. From what I can see of you here in your posts and on the videos, you seem like a determined and focused person. You got this. Yeah, I know I’m like 10 days after this post but like I said, I work a ton and am very sporadic (I hope I spelled that right after all my Manhattans today…) with being able to get on here.

I wrote a BIG long thing here and then went up to the top to make sure I was right in that I started at 201 and it is all gone! That makes now a good time to point out, if you are typing something very long, you should hit the actual reply button first, that will open the dialog box and give you the option to save your text with the icon in the bottom right corner (screen shot below)
Anyway, tough few weeks, 2 new employees in my department and while long-term that is going to be amazing, in the short-term that has been taking up a lot of my time. Also, dealing with my ridiculous 180 lb mastiff recovering from his 2nd knee surgery so not a lot of time to plan out and cook meals. Luckily for me I usually have ground beef/venison in the fridge so the opportunities for really derailing are limited, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t just grab a bag of something from the store a time or two. Anyway, he’s on the mend, the new employees are picking up what we want from them REALLY fast (found 2 people that really like to work!) and I will be able breath a bit again!
So 191, started at 201 with a goal of 175. Means we are 16 lb away from the goal and I think the 10 I have lost so far was the “easy” 10, now, as I get closer to what I should be at, my body won’t want to lose it as much, especially since I am determined to do it without sacrificing my strength. Lots of deadlifts and squats to try to up the metabolism and build muscle at the same time. Thanks for being patient with me, hopefully we can get back to posting every Monday!

Jonathon sometimes life just gets in the way. You have your goal set, hold yourself accountable and do the work. There will always be distractions/obstacles that will want to steal your focus. You got this, enjoy the journey.

2 week check in - I have lost 11 pounds thus far.
-
I’m down 13lbs so far but only lost 2lbs in the last week. So things are really starting to slow down. Hopefully it will keep coming off little by little. Good luck everyone.

24 days in 13 pounds down.

You guys are doing great! I need to step on a scale and see where I’m at. I know I’ve lost some because my belt is loose.

ND Mike It’s the time of year you should probably start packing on the pounds so you don’t get cold this winter.

Tex_77 hahaha! I did that last winter. I don’t plan on doing it again. I’m getting old enough where it is harder to shed the weight. When I worked construction I had a winter weight and a summer weight. The difference was about 30-40 lbs. I can’t do that anymore…lol!

lkrfletcher great to hear. Similar to what we have seen with ours. A good initial drop then a slow down but continued progression.
