Vegan or Vegetarian Sausage
-
Okay guys, Don’t hang me form the nearest tree, but I have a Bride that has several people coming to her reception who don’t eat meat and would like alternatives to real sausage.
Does anyone have a good recipe for vegan or vegetarian sausage they would recommend?
Thanks

I won’t say vegi-wurst doesn’t exist, but it never really interested me so I never researched it.
I am pretty much a carnivore when it comes to sausage. I would try a vegi-sausage if the opportunity was there, but I have not gone looking for them.
A Google search usually turns up something.

twilliams Thanks. saw some of the reviews and realizing that there are some people that like Jack in a Box food, I would rather trust my Meatgistics family who have either made or tasted a recipe to make a suggestion.
Some people even like $1.00 frozen pizzas. LOL

Chef I’ve done it for my wife out of black beans, carrot fiber and a few other ingredients that I don’t remember as it has been a few years. The Spinach and Feta sausage seasoning worked well but I don’t think we get the texture exactly how we wanted it and I gave up when her interest wained.

Jack fruit makes a go pulled pork substitute.
But never tried to make a Bratwurst out of it.smokedog thanks, never heard of it but I’ll investigate.

Chef The Funky Art Cafe in Brenham actually makes a really good pumpkin patty, they put it on a salad and a burger. If you have time you may want to run up there and eat it to see if you can pick out what is in it.

HerbcoFood Looks interesting. Only a bit from me, so I’ll bring the wife there for lunch. Thanks for the recommendation.

Chef Their soups there are also good, it get’s pretty crowded for lunch, so when you do plan to go get there early.

calldoctoday I really don’t know how long that place has been there, but the city cleaned up downtown from what I was told when I first started working there. But apparently it was pretty rundown but now it’s cleaned up and busy as ever if you go on the weekends.
