Joe Hell Re: Monkey Shoulder. In comparison to other Scotches, it’s very reasonable. At $33-34 vs some of the other scotches I have that at least double that price. It’s not the best I’ve tasted. But, for the price, pretty darn good.

My son gave me a bottle of Monkey Shoulder for Christmas. Its a pretty decent Scotch and I found myself pouring a couple fingers in the evening, drinking it neat.
I usually just drink Dewars on the rocks.

Actually pretty tasty and quite smooth. May be a keeper.

Yeah George Thorogood did a popular cover of the tune. The original goes back further than that though.

processhead John Lee Hooker did it before George, but I don’t think he was the first either.

Tex_77 ahh SoCo, havent had a drink with that in it in a long time but it was a favorite when I used to drink more. I just cant deal with the hang overs anymore. It’s unfair, you would think that by trying to stay and eat healthy my body would allow me some abuse from time to time, but the exact opposite seems to be the case, I have more than 4 drinks and the next day is just a nightmare. Part of the reason we stopped drinking during the podcast/livestreams is because it was erasing my Saturdays or whatever day was after the live stream!

Speaking of livestreams, we are going to be live today at 2:30 at waltonsinc.com/live. Lots of stuff to give away so join us!

I had a pretty bad experience with whiskey when I was 14. Today the term is alcohol poisoning. 41 years later, I’m trying to get through the whiskey sickness that still lingers. I actually have started off with several on the rocks and on Super Bowl Sunday made a couple of Whiskey Sours with Maker’s Mark (The regular stuff. I’m not there yet…) I decided to garnish with a slice of blood orange that I bought to make some blood orange wine with.

badfire2625 I still can’t stand Jack Daniels since a New Years many moons ago when I thought it’d be a good idea, to just keep drinking Jack on the 4 hour ride home the next day from where we went to celebrate.

Tex_77 Mine was essentially almost a fifth of Seagrams 7 and about a half a fifth of Canadian Club while taunting the rest of the guys for needing a nipple on their drinks. I did that amount in 4 gulps and yeah… Liquor, caffeine and bad decisions. Story of my life. Things have certainly changed since I found undefined Team-Orange … undefined (I can’t help myself…)

I was riding with one of the boys I was taunting, who wasn’t as drunk… Actually the saying should be Liquor, nicotine, caffeine, loose women and bad decisions… Literally every one of those things came into play that night.
