What did everyone cook today?

Parksider We loved our GrillEye too until they either updated something or something broke with ours and we were never able to get it to connect remotely again. As far as the matter I have been really happy with it but it is almost necessary to have an extra smart device like a tablet. It connects from the probe to the base for a short distance (i think it says 50’ but its not) then if you put a smart device within 100’ of that you can go literally anywhere, I have gone home on numerous occasions and continued to monitor my cook.
The graph on the Meater Plus is also really well done and easy to read. It also factors in dwell time in telling you take something out of the smoker/oven and setting up cooks is really simple. All in all the biggest draw back is that it is1 probe to 1 base, so you ar limited there. Now, they sell others with multiple probes but we don’t carry them.

Knocked out some steaks the other night on the Weber Summitt Kettle with the grill grates. I think i use the back more than the front of them! BUT…while the grill was burning out a storm rolled up hard and fast, don’t like to leave my baby outside but thought oh well it’s only rain. THEN i remebered that my Grill Eye Pro was sitting out… doh…now I have the black screen of death… turns on and send signal to my phone but nothing on the readout… that sucks!!! I loved that thing!!!

Technically not me and not “cook” but it was my wife and they were baked. Delicious cookies with fruity pebbles and/or lucky charms and they are magically delicious!

Jonathon hell no you wont share

Parksider I love my Meater+ (or 2+ of them…) They work amazing, but I’ve not done ribs. We might have to have Jonathon test that one out.
Tex_77 The Fireboard sounds cool, but I’ve never tried one. I initially contacted them when they were still a Kickstarter project and again after, but I never get a good response. They might be great, but they won’t just set us up as a vendor for some reason. I tried a couple times, but it never goes anywhere. I’d love to try and sell their stuff if it was good, but I don’t get a lot of a response from their customer service team. I gave up as I think there are other things on the market that work great too, but if you have any contact for us, that would be great. Or just call them and say “hey, why do you not have Walton’s as a distributor…?” -

Though I hear a competitor in your area may have an exclusive distributorship agreement with them.

Tex_77 I definitely get the feel there is a reason to it. I won’t explain everything, but what you said could make sense. They would be sorely mistaken to do an exclusive with anyone though… we’d hold our own against anyone out there, unless you get a paid exclusive with Amazon or something crazy.

Tex_77 I’ve tried twice to reach out to them and haven’t heard back either. If they aren’t interested there really isn’t anything we can do, unfortunately.

Jonathon just put an order in for a 1,000 of them, I bet that will get their attention.

Parksider Time for a Fireboard. That sucks, I guess at least you can still use your phone with it.
Tex_77 I agree with you about the Fireboard All research points in that direction. Wish that Walton’s could distribute them. Guys, if there is anyway you could sell them, You have me as a customer for that product.

How about home raised and butchered filets wrapped in home cured and smoked bacon.

Anyone using the Meater wireless probes? Could be my next purchase, sounds cool, they look thick like a pencil. Not sure how they’d do on ribs.

drbrown35801 Did you hand mold and fire that ceramic grill too?!

Joe Hell That’s one of those meals that people put on Instagram and say things like tag who you would try to eat this with. My good lord that’s HUGE and delicious looking. Working with you certainly seems to have its privileges!

Jonathon That is cute, I like that. If anyone figures it out, I would really like the plans & specifications.

Boned 2 whole chickens, stuffed them, then smoked them. One has wild rice, sausage, mushrooms, and onions. The other is stuffed with bacon, cheese, jalapeno, and onion. Threw in a venison tenderloin just in case it wasn’t any good. -
