    Jonathon its a very simple answer as to why the corn field you are looking at is short, we are in the middle of a drought and the temps have been running in the triple digit range for the most part!

    RafterW There is a relative large chunk of corn in between our areas that is going to be going away with new dairies coming in, and traditional corn and soybean circles will start getting planted to Alfalfa and feed for silage to support the dairies which in turn will supply the new cheese plant in Dodge with milk. I think a number I have heard is at least 27 circles are going to come out of corn. That will also have a huge impact on seed, fertilizer, chemical dealers as well as the local elevators that would traditionally handle those grain bushels.
