I have the YS640S on the comp cart. My shipping cost to Alaska was $800 bucks. You folks in the lower 48 get them good shipping rates!

We love dried peppers! I did a gallon of pickled jalapenos a while back. My poor wife came running out of the garage asking if I was making pepper spray! It took some time for me to stop laughing!

With it cooling down up here already the pressure is on! Gotta tie up loose ends on projects and then to making some sausage!

It is slower than some sealers but has a MUCH better vacuum and seals in two separate strips. We do a few hundred pounds of sausages, around 100 pounds of bacon and a couple hundred pounds of salmon every year. So far no issues. Just change the oil. We also make large amounts of BBQ beans and various meat sauces and seal them too. One of the most important things to consider is the bags that you use. I recommend going to a local butcher supply and see what quality of bags they have to offer instead of buying the “cheapo’s” from Amazon. The bags can make quite a difference too. If you are mostly sealing “dryer” food types like jerky snack sticks cheese and so on you will be just fine. We make alot of our own “snack packs” for the kids to munch on through the year. Works great for those.

I have this unit currently. It works quite well. At some point down the road I would like to invest in a more robust machine…but until that days comes this one seems to hanging in there! What you really need to watch out for is working with very moist or wet items and especially liquids. Watch your pump oil and change it a few times a year depending on how much you use it. Oil is cheap and one issue with this unit is that repair parts can be hard to find.
