PB blaster is like WD40, except it works WAY better. For squeaky doors and small stuff like that, WD works fine. But if you have stuck or rusted bolts, PB works way better. If you try it, you will never go back.

processhead thanks for posting a picture Paul. I was going to go out in the garage and take a pic and post it. I’m not smart enough to grab a photo off the web. Do you use it also? I know so many people who try it and never go back to anything else. I buy it by the case at the swap meet I go to in the fall. I even found a gallon of it which is nice, I can put it into anything from a squirt bottle to a syringe for doing ‘‘delicate’’ work

kyle I use it from time to time when I need to disassemble stuff that is frozen with corrosion or rust. Its’s good stuff, but a can last me quite a while.

I go through it probably because I have older equipment (dozer, backhoe, tractors) and I work on old cars.

For my own peace of mind, the wd40 and pb blaster thing is a joke. Only food grade oils/ sprays should be used on parts with food contact. Metal is porous and these protective coatings are designed to penetrate those pores and repell moisture. Simply washing the parts before using them, isn’t going to remove the harsh chemicals found in products like wd40. There would be no benefit to using them over a food grade product. Mineral oil, food grade equipment grease or food grade silicone spray is the safest bet.

kyle Agree on the blaster. It has freed up many a totally rusted components. Was introduced to it by dad about 35 years ago.

Deepwoodsbutcher I did put in my post on knives/plates I use food grade silicone spray, but like most of us on here we wander off topic sometimes. Thanks for clarifying in your post tho just in case someone is just skimming through and take our conversation the wrong way.

I know now what you are talking about , I have that in my shop. My shop and my food area for meats are separate areas that do not intermix nearly at all .
Ain’t gonna happen at my house.Why are you mixing oils and lubricants with food that are not compatible???
