We are doing some classes in Wichita with Pass It On Outdoor Mentors and Back Country Hunters and Anglers. The first class is deer processing, so breaking down a carcass into cuts, the 2nd class will be making deer snack sticks.

I want the people who come to the 2nd class to leave with some finished product. To do that I need to make some ahead of time. So I am planning on doing a process stream for making this and I want to do it either on a week night, after normal business hours, or on a weekend? My question is this, what would people be most likely to be able to attend? A Saturday mid-day one or a week night at 6 pm?

Jonathon I think a week night would be best. It will be taped so we can watch if we are not around right?

Is it possible that you could video it and add it to your how to video clips? Your how to video clips are Soooo helpful

I want to see it so If I can’t watch it live or miss the notification I want to watch it in video. Would you be doing a zoom so it could interactive? Or maybe when you do the class have that one interactive.

Jonathon either will work for me. The worst that could happen is I will be in a meeting or hard water fishing. If the former I will figure a way to watch, if the latter I may need to turn down the Vex and look for a signal.

So a few things, yes, it will be recorded and be able to watch back in the future. I will have the chat up on our monitor so I can answer any questions through chat. The zoom isn’t necessarily something I’d avoid BUT since I am doing this one off-hour and solo I think I will want to keep it as basic as possible to avoid me ruining the entire thing!

akdave and everyone else who has left nice comments on how tey have used the videos, I hope you know that it does mean a lot to us to read things like that! It is the entire reason that we set up meatgistics and yes Austin knew there was going to be a heavy community aspect to it but I never thought it would be like this. I thought it was basically a place to post video write-ups and occasionally answer a few questions!

YooperDog I have never heard the term Hard Water fishing before…I don’t have a boat or really any access to a boat, thank god, it’d be like giving a crack head an unlimited supply!

So, seems pretty even right now on what people would want. It’ll probably be either next week or the weekend after this upcoming one.

bocephus only time a mortal man can walk on water, albeit frozen ‘hard’ water. I guess it is like water fountain or bubbler, coke or soda,… I just took it for granted. Lakes are making ice these last few days with the drop in temps.

Up here it is about four months of the year

calldoctoday It is definitely quiet out where we go except for the wind and maybe a coyote. Most lakes and ponds we don’t see anyone else. Getting off the ice at dark or low vis can make it a bit of a challenge finding your way back, but it sure can be pretty out there with all the stars shining. If you go out on the big waters, Great Lakes or large bodies of water you need to pay attention to winds because of ice movements, you don’t want to be on the wrong side of the fracture. They will come and get you, but your equipment stays behind.

bocephus yes some areas up here have ice highways across the lake or bays. Other lakes if the boat landings are plowed open some folks will plow a path if the snow is to deep otherwise they just beat a path down. I am not a big fan of driving on the ice, I have seen a few go down, but I will take an ATV or sled out.

calldoctoday They are calling for most lakes around me at 12 - 20 inches. It will get thicker, I looking forward to the bays along Lake Superior near me to freeze up to get out and get on some bourbot, white fish and lake trout.

I’ve put my diesel truck weighing over 4 ton on a lake here in South central Iowa a couple of times. First time my Gluteus Maximus was ripping the covers off of my seats! LOL

I’d rather be sit’in in a boat and thinking about God,
Than sit’n in church and thinking about fish’in!
