GWG8541 these are some of biggest I’ve ever grown. Several are the size of my daughter’s softball. They are really sweet also. It’s the first time I’ve planted California Sweets 😋.

cdavis nice, I have Candy sweet in the ground, but they haven’t even started to bulb. I haven’t done taters in a while, but put out a row of Pontiac Red this year. Keeping my fingers crossed on both

This weekend I dug 1/2 of my potatoes and pulled 1/2 of my onions. They both turned out really good. I’ve been enjoying my carrots and cucumbers but the problem is now the lettuce and spinach is burned up. I guess you can’t have it all. Good luck to the rest of you gardeners. 20220618_160444.jpg

I picked about a quart of raspberries, both red and black early this morning. I tossed a few handfuls on some oatmeal for breakfast. 20220620_150123.jpg

GWG8541 I can’t show my wife this picture, she loves raspberries. We go pick them on a farm every fall.

Just curious. I have an abundance of purslane taking over my garden. Have research the nutritional value of this plant so finally decided to try it. Had anyone else eaten this weed? I tried two ways. 1) sauteed with some garlic and soy sauce, and 2) sauteed with some onion, garlic, tomato sauce and then simmered with rice. Both were pretty good.PXL_20220629_180038720.jpg PXL_20220629_180045393.jpg

Tex_77 I gave up trying to control it anyway but pulling. If you till or hoe it, each plant becomes 100 plants. Figured what the Heck. Might as well try eating it. University of Nebraska Extension did a spot on it and said it’s pretty high in nutrition. It didn’t kill me over night so I guess that’s good.

wdaly Ah NO!!! It’s not that I wouldn’t like. It’s a “I didn’t know” or “that question never surfaced”. It’s not a subject (horticulture) that I’m well versed in. Thanks for letting me achieve my goal of “learning one new thing each day”. My only question is: does it have any particular “taste profile”?
