What did everyone cook today?

Deepwoodsbutcher Your chicken thighs inspired me, my wife got a 10 pack tonight, and so I did them on the pellet smoker like yours but I did lemon pepper and a buffalo spice mix I had. Everyone liked having a choice, most ate both! Don’t know why I never did 2 flavors, but never thought of it til your post above.
I told them I got the idea online from you, then went on about you setting up your small shop…well, I think I might have talked my wife into several of those stainless tables you got, for my outdoor kitchen. She took my folding card table down last week as looking “trashy”, so it was a perfect time to strike!

Dave in AZ That’s awesome! Have fun setting up your kitchen. Having your own space for hobbies is always good.

Thank you. It was really good. I really appreciate it.
calldoctoday nice looking ham and thanks for the instructions. We have lots of wild blackberries up here, just might have to save some from wine and melomel. Sounds like it is worth It. Just had some Old Forester last so I am good there.

Broiled rack of lamb, fresh brussels sprouts blackened with home made bacon, and baked potato.
Side note: If my Mom had fixed brussels sprouts with bacon when we were growing up, I would have had a completely different opinion about that vegetable . I hated them then, and love them now.

processhead that is my favorite way to eat brussel sprouts, followed by pickled. My mom would serve them always boiled, but she would kick the up a notch with browned butter cracker crumbs or a Velveeta cheese sauce.

YooperDog Thank you & you are very welcome. I bet you have some very nice Blackberries up your way, probably very big & very sweet.

RON PARRISH thats an awesome combo. Calamari and mushrooms are two of my fried favorites.
I smoked a few pork shoulders last night and injected Pa’s Black Bull with my own rub on the outside. They smoked all night and I spritzed them with apple juice a few times this morning before wrapping them for the rest of the cook. The total cook time was about 14 hours and they turned out tasty and very moist. The Pa’s Black Bull definitely helped with keeping moisture in and has a great taste. I made a batch of my homemade Q sauce to go with it. It didn’t need it, but the sauce is also great.

Nice amount if smoke

No sandwich tonight, just the pulled meat, baked beans and a salad.

GWG8541 Those are some of the best shoulders I have seen in a long time, before the smoke & after! Then a Summer Shandy already to boot!

GWG8541 that Leineys summer shandy pairs real well with BBQ.

Grill some steaks over the weekend, nothing fancy but they were tasty.

calldoctoday thank you kind Sir. One of the best parts was they were only $1.49 lb. at a local grocery. I had been wanting to use my Walton’s injector and the Pa’s Black Bull. It turned out great.

Tex_77 those look pretty fancy to me.

YooperDog I’m normally not a fruit in your beer guy, but I do like this one. A friend who grew up in Wisconsin got me hooked on Leinenkugel’s about 25 years ago. My favorite was their doppleboch “Big Butt”. It had two Rams butting each other on the label. They discontinued it, but did bring it back for a short time a few years ago. Word of advise if it comes back. Don’t bring it home and tell your wife “look honey they named a beer after you.” It did not work out too well for me.

Tex_77 wonderful grill marks. YAY!!!
-
glen thats funny. Now that you’ve mentioned it, I probably never should have taught my wife how to run our backhoe.

Sometimes you just need to fry bacon.

-
Tex_77 Nothing like making bacon, it makes everything great.
