How I spent my vacation

Jonathon I cant wait until the snow melts so I can get out and do yard work. Your yard looks very nice
kyle the snow is finally receding here, the last two big rains and two days of warm temps finally allowing the grass to show through. Although I can’t say I look forward to yard work. There is always some projects that need addressing, but I would rather be riding my bike or fishing. But I know what you mean.

So, I took Thursday and Friday off from work! I needed it, needed a little bit of time away to try to recharge my battery a little and do some stuff around the house. I had been hoping to spend most of that time working on the house with my wife but her plant was plagued with issues, so we got to spend a little less time together than I had hoped. Ate too much, had a few drinks and slept in (7 am!) every day!
I have trouble doing nothing for more than a few hours and we wanted to do some upgrades to the house, so we decided to make up for not doing anything on the outside of the house for the last 2 years by redoing the front landscaping.

Beautiful front yard, Jonathon! We just did 130 bags of mulch on our 8 parkway trees and our planting berm along back and part of side yard. Luckily the rest of the planting areas around house are rocks as it is a good bit of work. Paid the landscapers to shovel edge it all first vs DIY - money well spent!

The yard is looking good Jonathon . The wind has been crazy lately. Not much fun working outdoors when the wind is blowing 40 mph.

Before: Jonathon really nice looking yard and landscape! That looks like a ton of work you’ve done, beautiful, congrats. My yard got destroyed by a gopher army, the gopher guy I finally hired last week counted about 100 mounds.

Jonathon Are those parking spots there so people have a place to park to access the green space? Or are you really OCD about people parking in your driveway?

Looks great! I also did some work in the garden beds at my house this year that I had been neglecting. I planted 105 bulbs of various flowers and laid down 40 bags of garden soil and 30 bags of mulch over a period of four days. After the last day I could barely walk after using muscles that had not been used for a long time. There’s a great sense of satisfaction after it’s completed!
