I remember when I was young and you couldn’t get Coors, the custom combiners would bring back many cases of it and sell it for far more than they paid for it.

bocephus back in the late 70s I was lucky enough to take a trip to Philmont Scout Ranch in Cimarron NM, as a Boy Scout. We made the trip from Ohio on a Charter bus. The bus driver made a couple stops at some stores and loaded up one of the empty luggage compartments in the belly with Coors. Being Scouts, we all helped load multiple cases onto the bus. Probably a good thing cell phones and cameras did not exists. The videos would have been hilarious, with a group of Boy Scouts loading illegal beer onto a bus for out of state transport. Im sure that driver made out when he got back to Ohio. Something tells me he had done it before.

My cocktail of choice for the past week. I got sick and tested positive for COVID last week. Its definitely not a fun virus. I should be back in action soon.

GWG8541 Just take it easy and slow. Hopefully, you don’t lose the taste and smell.

zbigjeff thanks, I had not had an appetite during the first 3 days or so and ate a few crackers to coat the stomach for some prescriptions. One of the first things I tried when I felt well enough to eat was my favorite pizza place here in town. It’s a family owned place and soul food to me, since I grew up on it. My family has been great keeping me taken care of and delivered it to the bedroom door. The pizza looked great, it was hard to smell but smelled fine. I took a bite and about cried. The pizza I have eaten since a kid and the only purchased pizza my parents would buy, tasted horrible. No lie, I was mortified. I was expecting a boost from this great pie of nutrition and got just the opposite. The best description I can give is it was like a bite of straight salt with a dollop of grease.
So know I’m thinking what next??, Whiskey, beer? I know there are some claiming their taste buds have not recovered. This would really be unimaginable. Im hoping this is temporary.
Buy the way, I do not recommend this diet plan. Lost 8 pounds the first 4 days and made sure I stayed hydrated.

GWG8541 Start taking zinc to get those tastes back, it does work to bring the taste buds back to order. That weight loss plan sucks, I have been on one of those for the last four weeks with not being able to keep things in. The doctor told it was nutritional malabsorption, I said no sh*t, what’s causing it, we don’t know. I lost over 10 bs. before I figured out it’s one of the supplements they have me on that has turned against me and my gut.

johnsbrewhouse I hope you have it figured out and are doing better. I could afford to loose another 10 pounds, but definitely not like that. There is definitely a reason doctors say they are practicing medicine and don’t have money back guarantees.

JohnG5 it was like having the flu on steroids. The worst part for me was not being able to sleep the first 2 or 3 days for more than about a half hour at a pop. Know the pneumonia capability associated with this virus, I was determined to force myself to cough up anything I could, rather than let it settle. The taste thing is really disappointing. Im ready to get back to my normal. I do most of the shopping for the family and my office at work is in a hospital, I’m not sure how I’ve avoided it up to now to be honest.

zbigjeff Yet another one I now remember along with Pearl. Thank you for reminding me of Stroh’s. Now I remember another one that I did like believe it or not back then & it came in that old bottle, if I remember correctly, Falstaff. The name of that other one that I still have a bottle of & could not remember, that went out early was Burgermeister.

zbigjeff thanks, I had not had an appetite during the first 3 days or so and ate a few crackers to coat the stomach for some prescriptions.

GWG8541 Take it one day at a time. That issue may last awhile I’ve been told. Keep on trying diff things and find one that is ok. Good luck during your journey.

My cocktail of choice for the past week. I got sick and tested positive for COVID last week. Its definitely not a fun virus. I should be back in action soon.

calldoctoday Pearl beer, I can remember that along with Lonestar. Two beers made in San Antonio. When we were there when I was little they took us to both breweries for tours all the time. I think my dad just went for the free beer. I can remember the hall of horns at the Lonestar brewery.

YooperDog I remember Meister Brau. How about Rhinelander or Foxhead out of Waukesha?
