GWG8541 Congrats! I only got a couple hrs in this weekend. Temps in the single digits and teens and me don’t get along. wasn’t unbearable in afternoons though

I hunt deer 1st season shotgun in Iowa and soft water fish only now as I’ve almost sold all of my ice gear with an exception of my auger and flasher n camera.
My groups deer hunt has been less than stellar for the last 3 years. We had a major loss of deer to a disease that was not CWD in the county and river basin that we hunt on private ground. I still have deer tho, a friend sent me 3 deer that were reported and I will process then for our group. T-Loins, loins/back straps, burger is already packaged and divided. I have Summer sausage, bacon and meat sticks to do. Another fella in our group does the dried jerky. -
1,800 deer were lost with in the stretch of the river within our county that year.

I have one more duck hunt a week from Saturday, then the last weekend of the month I have one more deer hunt. Hunting season takes forever to get here and then is gone in the blink of an eye!
