Meat packers’ profit margins jumped 300% during pandemic - White House economics team
Four major meat processing companies tripled their profit margins since the beginning of the Pandemic in March 2020.
National MCOOL Coalition
“Washington, D.C. – Today, over 400 cross-sectional U.S.-based trade organizations, both food and non-food small businesses, and individuals, from all across the United States, have joined a letter now being distributed to every U.S. Senator urging them to quickly endorse and enact the American Beef Labeling Act of 2021 (S.2716). The act is best known as the mandatory country of origin labeling (MCOOL) bill for beef and requires beef sold at retail grocery stores to bear a conspicuous label informing consumers as to where the animal from which the beef was derived was born, raised, and harvested.”

California man refuses to get robbed, takes gun from muggers and shoots one dead
Man holds off two robbers, steals a gun and shoots one dead.
Post of the week!!!
After shamelessly entering myself in the running for Recipe of the Week, I got what I deserved and was defeated handily by GWG8541 four votes to three. GWG8541 captures his third of seven total Recipe of the Week titles. I think that constitutes as a Dynasty. It’s hard to beat a Porterhouse Steak with Walton’s Ultimate Steak and Roast Rub. cdavis received two votes for Argentinean Chuck Roast and YooperDog (Cordon Bleu Chicken) and Surg (Chinese Crispy Pork) each tallied a vote a piece.

The Post of the Week Meat Processing winner goes to lkrfletcher with his Jalapeno Bacon post that received five votes. marzig20’s Canned Corn Hash received three votes. Joemy96 received his first nomination for Processing Post of the Week contestant and was awarded two votes.

New choices to vote for will be released in a post on Thursday.

YooperDog
This is one of the toughest weeks thus far. There are several that look so good. Do we need to add more categories, ie. Fish, Sous Vide, Regular cooking, Soups & stews, Smoking & Drinking. I had better leave all that alone I suppose.
So, I will go with YooperDog with his tenderloins & Armadillo Eggs. All the others look so good too. -
