Just saw this group and looked to see who was a member. WOW Didn’t know we had so many veterans. THANK YOU for your service. In this day and age, we don’t honor our veterans as we should. We owe you much, more than could ever be repaid.

Thank you Walton for honoring them in this way.

Chef well, there are only 4 of us signed up for this group. I think there is confusion because there was a recent group created called “veteran” for Meatgistics user with I believe had more than 2 years. The Military Veteran group is “US Veteran”. Im not sure if its too late, but Jonathon JohnG5 could there be a name change to something like “Old Timers” to the Meatgistics “veterans” group to avoid this confusion moving forward?

GWG8541 Not possible because there is already an “Old Timer” group. However I think Jonathon, JohnG5, or Austin could change the name of the US Veterans group to Military Veterans, or something of that nature.

Tex_77 I do not think that will change people from being confused in the future since it still bears the name " veteran". I don’t think the US part is confusing anyone.

Tex_77 I like it. That might help. Using Veteran as a noun as it currently is in Meatgistics gives connotation of a person who has served in the military. When it is used as an adjective like you just recommended, it clears things up. Since someone brought up our military friends to the north, maybe we should use Military Veteran vs. US Veteran to included anyone up north and any of our other allies. Man those Canadian guys loved to drink. Just my 2 cents.

Dr_Pain I served with 3 Canadians doing military service in the USMC 1966-1970. That’s when I learned about gravy on French Fries–Poutine.

Here is one for you my friend!!! (home made poutine with home made cheese curds, gravy and fries)

Dr_Pain Tough to find around here, had many a plate after a long night in New Foundland. Did a bit of training with those folks. Looks good.

As a veteran I would like to join this group. I served from 1987-1993 in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier U.S.S. ENTERPRISE (CVN-65) I worked on the flight deck as an Aviation Boatswains Mate Handler (ABH).
