Tex_77 It is a Zootility Wildcard knife and multi-tool. Super thin and size of a credit card so it fits in my wallet. Got one early this year, and it is probably my favorite knife I have since it fits in my wallet. I strangely use it for eating a lot when out and on the go.

Back from camping and back to reality. I enjoyed some great food with the family the past several days. I’ve included some pictures if my contributions to the family meals.
This past weekend was the State Park Campground’s Halloween weekend camp out. It has been a family and friends tradition of ours for about 4 decades. My brother, one of my sisters, my family and some old friends were part of it this years.
We took up 5 campsites and a cabin. Unfortunately this weekend the Crappie were not cooperating, so no good fish pics. I will start with Friday’s meal, which were all over wood fire.
Breakfast, yes that is Spam and eggs with toast. Its a long story, but has become part of the tradition.

Lunch was deer brats I made using Walton’s Blue Ribbon brat seasoning and adding some of my ground homemade Chipotle for a little kick.
                            20211010_193249.jpg 20211010_193335.jpg
Dinner was a Hunter’s Pie made in my CI Dutch Oven using 5lbs of ground venison.

Saturday we call the big breakfast. My brother and I get up and start it at sun up. The menu was bacon, sausage with gravy, biscuits, country ham, pancakes. The plate was mine after cooking all morning on the griddle.

Saturday dinner is pot luck. My contribution was ND Mike Chocolate Cherry dump cake and every bit disappeared. I had to improvise a little after leaving my Hershey’s Special dark chocolate chips at home. I had the big pack of Hershey bars for Smores and chopped up 4 bars instead. I also added Dr. Pepper Cherry instead of Coke. It was awesome.

GWG8541 man that looks like an awesome time. We did a trip to Delaware earlier this year but rented a cabin. Keep saying I’m gonna get a travel trailer but gotta get a truck first. Hehe.

GWG8541 I cannot like this post enough! That is what it is all about! Family and great food equals great memories! Don’t apologize for fried spam! I love spam! Are you just making toast in the pan or are your frying it a bit?

Thanks for the shout out on the dessert! I bet it was amazing with Dr. Pepper cherry! I’m gonna make that the next weekend I have off.

GWG8541 man that looks like an awesome time. We did a trip to Delaware earlier this year but rented a cabin. Keep saying I’m gonna get a travel trailer but gotta get a truck first. Hehe.

Surg the truck came first. It was a retirement gift to myself. Then I bought the fifth wheel camper. It all started with tent camping, then a pop up camper, but I skipped buying a travel trailer and went to a fifth wheel. Im not exactly roughing it anymore, but enjoying it more as I get older.

Today was a perfect day for this supper. I love the Fall in the Upper Great Plains when the temps start to cool off. Sweatshirt weather is my favorite and this is one of my favorite meals. Meatloaf, candied squash, and baked taters.

Smoked pichana seasoned with Spiceology’s Gaucho Steakhouse Rub, and an apple crisp.

I finally cooked some of the steaks I dry aged for 45 days, I seared both sides for a little over a minute then finished on indirect heat until 129°, served it with creamy parmesan risotto with sautéedA7666D5E-A848-4ED1-962C-261D7A3F4723.JPG mushrooms, and hand cut homemade rosemary garlic fries.
