GWG8541 nice write up. Just think how lucky you are to have the knowledge and memories. I would like to share a quote with you that my buddy shared with me when my dad passes away.
“GRIEF NEVER ENDS, BUT IT CHANGES. ITS A PASSAGE, NOT A PLACE TO STAY. GRIEF IS NOT A SIGN OF WEAKNESS, NOR A LACK OF FAITH…ITS THE PRICE OF LOVE”
my thoughts and prayers are with you today
kyle thanks, that is a great passage and perspective. I was blessed to have great parents and grandparents. Even more blessed to have had them so long. After being in law enforcement for over 35 years now, you see a lot of carzy and not so good things. The biggest reality of the job is that none of us are promised tomorrow. I try to make the best of each day that is given to us. Thanks again.

GWG8541 Grief and sorrow that one feels from losing a loved one never ends.
Lost my brother when he was 17, I was 9.
My brother in law that took his place in our family when he was 24, I was 17.
My father and I worked closely together in construction each of us having our own business. Losing dad was extreem on me.
It has been my extreme honor to carry all of my uncles and 3 aunts to the internment site.
I’m 67 in a couple of months now, the eyes still spring a leak when I think of my loved ones very dear to me that have passed.I am so sorry for your losses.

Canned dill pickles tonight, used my sous vide to maintain a percise temperature for canning.

Tex_77 Looks like a great idea, never thought of that, I will have to give it a try,

Started a small batch of kraut.

-
Tex_77 still haven’t found a recipe for bloody Mary mix
but canned 36 quarts of spicy V8 and a 3 pint trial run of rotel. It took 60lbs of tomatoes.

-
Tex_77 we couldn’t find ball lids so had to use another kind. Do you know what caused this during the hot water bath. 7 out of the 36 did this.

-
Surg interesting. I wonder if thats the tops that @DennyO uses. Have you used them before surg?
kyle

My nipples look to be a little taller. I don’s know if his has the clear glass disks, mine are laid on top of the folded full leafs.
But anyway here is a pic of mine at work. -

cdavis over-pressure. The pressure didn’t bleed off through the seal. Were the bands to tight?

Charlie, I’ve never seen that before.
Not sealing, yes
Boiling some out of the jar, yes
Just not that. -

johnsbrewhouse my wife said they were not. But I think they must have been. She does alot of canning and this is the first time it’s happened to her. She blamed the new lids.

Did the lids seem to be a lighter material thickness?

cdavis Those lids might be thinner too if they are made offshore

johnsbrewhouse she said all she get shipped from China. Go figure.
-
A couple of years ago I tried a copy cat V8 that was rather high rated and I thought it s—ed.
-
cdavis canning tomatoes has all most got me ready to pull up my plants. Thank goodness the end is in site.
-
@dennyo I’d have to see her recipe to get it all. But I helped her cut up beets carrots cucumbers jalapeños bell peppers celery and tomatoes. I’m not sure what else went in but this is the 5th year she’s made it and I like it better than the real spicy V8.
