GWG8541 nice write up. Just think how lucky you are to have the knowledge and memories. I would like to share a quote with you that my buddy shared with me when my dad passes away.

Im posting this here because my Dad was the best gardener I have ever known. Its a a tough day today. I buried my Dad a year ago today and my Mom 7 months before him. After Mom passed I spent about every day at his house, cooking, cleaning and helping him live on his own at 91. My parents taught me everything important in life, including the ways of life most of us live and practice daily in this community. My Dad taught me how to hunt and grow food and Mom taught me how to prepare, preserve and can it. Today I opened the last jar of grape jelly I canned from my Dads grape vines last year. As you can see from the date on the can, it was canned on the 20th of August a year ago. It was the first time I had made it without Mom. The next day Dad went to the hospital and never came home again; he died on the 29th. While he was in Hospice I fed him his last meal. It was his grape jelly from this same batch on toast. You would have thought I gave him a steak dinner. I never thought my dad would be gone when I made this batch of jelly and I definitely never thought I would be feeding him his last meal. My challenge to everyone in our community is to keep our ways of life going. @ Papasop taught me this indeed is a community. Inside this community there are differences, but there is respect and everyone is willing to help one another. Your traditions, beliefs and betterment of this great country and community has to continue. Pass along your knowledge. It will come full circle some day.

kyle thanks, that is a great passage and perspective. I was blessed to have great parents and grandparents. Even more blessed to have had them so long. After being in law enforcement for over 35 years now, you see a lot of carzy and not so good things. The biggest reality of the job is that none of us are promised tomorrow. I try to make the best of each day that is given to us. Thanks again.

GWG8541 Grief and sorrow that one feels from losing a loved one never ends.

Lost my brother when he was 17, I was 9.
My brother in law that took his place in our family when he was 24, I was 17.
My father and I worked closely together in construction each of us having our own business. Losing dad was extreem on me.
It has been my extreme honor to carry all of my uncles and 3 aunts to the internment site.
I’m 67 in a couple of months now, the eyes still spring a leak when I think of my loved ones very dear to me that have passed.

I am so sorry for your losses.

Tex_77 still haven’t found a recipe for bloody Mary mix 😢 but canned 36 quarts of spicy V8 and a 3 pint trial run of rotel. It took 60lbs of tomatoes. 20210907_094016.jpg 20210907_152306.jpg
