And here is the chaos that ensues in the kitchen when I am paying more attention to my cook than I am my boy!

@matt-westerhaus if the toys were smaller squeaky toys or balls it would look like my puppy was there

Working on side dish. German style hot potato salad. No recipe
from memory and scratch. Have made this 100 times.
@matt-westerhaus When I do the same thing, they say: That’s not fair. We want to know the recipe. My response in your case would be: Well, there’s potatoes, bacon, onion and some other schtuff.

@matt-westerhaus I love hot German potato salad! Do you out vinegar in yours?
-
ND Mike Vinegar has got to be a staple in Hot German Pot Salad. I can taste that twinge right in the back of my throat.
-
johnsbrewhouse I’m contemplating a fishing trip that way just for a breath of fresh air.
Steven Winscot Depending on which side of the mountains you are going, The west side we get cleaned out every few days with the winds of change, the east side is pretty smoky with it sitting in a basin and we have 3 large forest fires on the eastern side of the Cascades. The coast is great, no fire smoke hardly at all, I’m 100 miles inland from the coast and 100 miles from two of the fires and 125 from the other as the crow flies.

@matt-westerhaus My favorite, my mother made it all the time for us. We would get Rouladen two or three times a year. Mom could cook German food well.

@matt-westerhaus love a good German potato salad.

ND Mike defiantly white vinegar in there. A little salt a little sugar to balance the bite of the vinegar. Not much to it other than that and the bacon grease for the flavor-train.
-
I browned some pork chops, then sauteed some onions, red bell peppers and calabaza squash. Then I tossed the pork chops back in, added mushrooms, artichoke hearts and the spaghetti sauce. Mixed it all together and put it in the oven for about 2 hours. I then put it over some spaghetti and served it with a kicker side of goat cheese.

-
Tried a Bulgogi Mandu with Kimchi tonight. My son makes the Kimchi, I tried tried making the fried dumplings or Mandu for the first time and will have to work on them again. They were good, but I want a little more spice the next time around.

@matt-westerhaus I love that stuff

All on the grill now. Indirect to start for a reverse sear cook. Egg is sitting at about 300F for the reverse.

@matt-westerhaus - Looks like it is going to be awesome.

kyle - Those look darn good

Everything turned out awesome. My seasoning is my pick in the deer steaks (savory flavors) and I’d pick our babysitters for the pork (sweeter and a kick of spicy). Potato was on point. I like tasting along the way to balance flavors!

@matt-westerhaus Perfect

@matt-westerhaus I’ve got 5 kids and experience tells me that you must have cleaned up at least half the mess before you took the pic. LOL
