Always loved the sweet pickled jalapenos at a BBQ joint near Houston. I am going to try this with the pickle crisp. Thanks lkrfletcher!

lkrfletcher Darn it. You’re making my mouth water and I’m trying to lose the pounds gained while sitting on my butt during rehab. Ah, go ahead. Keeps my mouth from getting dry.

Pour over some cream cheese, a big bowl in tortilla chips and I hammer through it without thinking.

lkrfletcher my batch from last year never mellowed. They are great tasting, but my Jalapenos were the hottest I’ve ever grown. This year they are a nice medium heat. I gifted a lot of last years to some friends who liked crazy hot.20210816_204908.jpg

bocephus agreed, its that or temps are too high during the cook. It also helps to make sure you are using fresh and firm jalapenos. I made a batch that half of the peppers sat a few days before I got to them and the other half were just off of the vine. There was a big difference in the firmness of the final product.

The cowboy candy juice is great in wilted/sautéed greens.
