What did everyone cook today?

Wild rabbit browned and then slow cooked in pellet grillRON PARRISH - Looks great. Can’t say as I have ever had rabbit.
-
lkrfletcher I could go for some of those. They look good

cdavis - I think this would be great in a jalapeño wrapped up in more bacon.

lkrfletcher I think I’ll have to try it

Jonathon that looks delicious. Im gonna have to give that a try. I’ve found that whiskey will light better when it’s above the 110 proof range. The kind that warms your inerds. Hard to believe the EC barrel proof was a slow lighter. I would have had to sip a little while cooking.
GWG8541 Dinner always tastes better if you sip bourbon or wine while it’s cooking.

zbigjeff Well duh, that’s because I can’t feel my face by the time dinner is done cooking…
-
Keto stuffed sweet peppers
More like a snack than a meal. Sure are tasty though.
Filling is philly cream cheese mixed with shredded cheddar cheese and some smoked bacon bits. Sprinkled with everything bagel seasoning. Air fryer at 400 for 6 minutes.

lkrfletcher Those look great. Still waiting for my sweet peppers to ripen but will definitely give this a try

Reverse seared a couple Creekstone Farms pichanas. Seasoned the with Butcher BBQ Steak and Brisket rub and fresh ground pepper. Cooked on the PK Original. Also made creamed cucumbers, and chimichurri to go along with it.

Tex_77 Another great looking meal.

HerbcoFood Maybe that’s why they sometimes call it “slap your momma good”. BTW: That feeling does happen if it’s a LONG cook period. My bud’s wife steals the keys right about then.

Decided to take it easy and use the light duty equipment today: weber grill and my new toy (a 12" smoker tube for cold smoking) to cold smoke a salmon filet. I’m a dolt because I took the pic of the smoker tube/wood pellets and the smoked salmon portion on the plate along with some brie cheese and crackers. Forgot to take pics of the product on the grill for 2 hours. DUH!!! I vacuum packed the other half of the filet and stuck it in the freezer for future uses. The new toy did a good job putting on some smoke to the salmon. Tomorrow, I’m planning on cold smoking 3 different cheeses.

zbigjeff nice. I have a similar tube and use it for the low temp smoke for my snack sticks. It’s great!

I made 11 pints and 4 quarts of Marinara out of 26 lbs of my garden tomatoes. So the wife comes in and asks “whats for dinner?” and I may have sarcastically said “something with Marinara”. After getting all the cans done, I whipped up some Fettuccine for my Marinara and grilled shrimp on the carbon steel skillet and topped it with fresh grated parm.

GWG8541 that looks amazing!

ND Mike I’m beginning to like the Lodge carbon steel as much as my cast iron. Especially outdoors over an open flame.

GWG8541 I’ve heard really good things about them! I might have to invest in one!

ND Mike the only bad on the lodge was just like their CI the cooking surface was rough. My son did some sanding on it and smothed it out and re-seasoned it. Works great.

GWG8541 Looks great. Anxious for my tomatoes to get ripe. They’re starting.

wdaly It is amazing how there can be so much variation in one country. I wish mine were just getting ripe. They are all long past their prime, too hot, too wet, & producing no more. I try to get a little more out of the vines in the Fall by pruning them back a bit, but it is not a perfect science.

Jalapeno poppers, Bulgogi with kimchi and fresh cucumber kimchi from the garden.
