So, if anyone somehow happened to not see it you need to check this post from Joe Hell Big goals deserve big rewards and you will know exactly what can be accomplished with a good diet and a healthy dose of will. Well, I have fallen off badly from being in the best shape of my adult life a few years back and I want that back. I feel like I have fallen off in energy levels and in mental clarity.

So, my plan is this, I am going to commit to eating NOTHING but what I have made myself. This means I can have anything I want that I have cooked myself and 0 prepared foods. So, steak, chicken, salad, veggies obviously are all good. Packaged sushi. pizza (this’ll hurt) and anything that has already been cooked or preseasoned at the store is out.

I’ll try to a check-in every Tuesday on this post, whenever I reach my goal weight I will do some sort of fun/funny thing to celebrate, thinking of sky-diving!

Current weight (with clothes on): 201 (I knew it was going to be not good but yikes)
    Goal weight: 175

That is a great goal and a great idea. Personally, I am awaiting blood work for a cholesterol issue. Many of the things I post, I do not eat because of this. I should have better direction from my Doctor soon, and have been cleared to go on a Glycemic index (GI) diet on June 1st. Heck man, I will do it with you. I am much older, and have several physical challenges, but I will give it a try. I always prepare my own food, it is just extremely satisfying for me, so I will keep this up, but my system needs whole grains, high fiber. So my goal will be to drop my Lipid profile from 303 to 130. This can actually happen fairly quickly with a side effect of weight loss.
    GOALS - 25lb weight loss
    CHOLESTEROL - Down from 303 to 130.
TIMELINE - Meatgistics meat up Feb. 2022 (not sure if this is an official date or not).
START DATE - Start June 1st (Pending blood work)

I am there with you man - Lets do this.

Life is a Garden - Dig it.

Jonathon Austin get this man a double quarter pounder with cheese. Also don’t be tempting him with the gourmet quality Totino’s pizza’s!

Jonathon lkrfletcher This could be an excellent means for us to be held accountable. Is it okay for all of us to post weekly along wit you. Not a competition, but rather a means for us to all get healthier.

I’ve lost 15 pounds in the last 3 weeks, but have so much more to go. At 245.4 today, Goal is 170, but for now just 230.

Chef - I don’t see why not. You and I have the same weight 244. Though I am in more of a cholesterol worry than weight, but will be nice to track.

lkrfletcher and Chef and anyone else who wants to join in that’s not only fine it is awesome! Lets treat it not as a competition but as a cool/fun way to keep each other and ourselves accountable! Reasonable goals are the biggest thing in my mind. Dont set a goal that you don’t think you can accomplish or it just gets too frustrating.

Tex_77 1st of all, just reading that made my mouth water. I know it is ridiculous, I know they are trash but MAN do I want a double quarter pounder with cheese any time I think of them! Also, Austin doesn’t eat as many Totino’s anymore!

Jonathon great idea! I put on some extra covid and winter weight and I am also looking at eating better and restricting all extra sugars. No more pop or candy bars. I have always been a bigger guy. I played O line in college and I no longer need to carry around 275 lbs. My knees scream at me now to get down around 230-240 lbs.

Jonathon Well. First I’m with you in that if I don’t make it, I don’t eat it. No process foods. That in itself should help.

Not tempting from the peanut gallery. This is hard enough,

Starting out at 201! Holy Cow! I’m sure you can handle the 26 lbs., Jon. It’s a one-day-at-a-time thing. I haven’t weighed that since I was a tackle on the eighth grade football team. I’m more in line with Joe Hell. I weighed in at 354 last June. 261 this morning. Down 93 lbs. in 11 months. I weigh every day. It’s the #1 priority of my entire day, every day. My method is simple. I got the idea from my sister, who had bariatric surgery. It forced her to eat very small amounts of food, many times a day. I figured I could do that, without having the pain and expense of surgery. I eat 100 calories/hr., every hour, from the time I get up till 7 pm. Anything I want. Turns out, 1 ounce of beef jerky is about 100 calories. Yum. I don’t eat to may sweets, mostly because 100 calories is usually not much volume. Lots and lots of foods are packaged in 100 calorie portions. This is all partly why you guys are driving me crazy with your pictures and descriptions of fantastic meat products. Good news is, they can all be cut into 100 calorie portions! I’m in, on the weekly check-in!

Jonesy That’s an extraordinary story. You have much to feel good about that weight loss.

Interesting about the 100 calories per hour. I’ve been trying to do the intermittent fasting, allowing 14 to 16 hours between main meals. Sounds like your approach may be a better solution.

                                  thanks for sharing.

100 calories isn’t a lot, but you only have to wait 50 minutes or so after you eat, and you can do it again!

Jonesy It makes sense. I’m going to give it a try starting tomorrow morning. Any other factors to consider?

Hell yeah Jonesy ! Great job man, you and Joe Hell both deserve a lot of credit for doing that much. Lord knows it isn’t easy. Honestly, 4 days in and I am already feeling better, better work outs, sleeping better and more energy!
