twilliams Follow your heart. I found it amazing how if you go through this post almost everyone has changed careers at least once at all different stages in our lives. The one cool thing about this forum is we are all here to help/support you with whatever decision you make. This group is much more that just meat processing. That is why I love it so much.

Go for it! Many of us are not wired for a formal classroom setting as kids. As our brains mature things start to change. Sometimes it’s just all the distractions while we are kids.

twilliams You need to go for it! You can do it! Just put your mind to it, set the time aside, & you will get it done. You can accomplish anything you truly desire to accomplish, if you put your mind to it & focus.

Great bunch of posts! I am retired from 37 years at high voltage substation & power plant maintenance. Still have 10 fingers and 10 toes, no one hurt under my watch so was a good time to retire. Love the people on this site.

Born in Wichita and moved away at a young age. I have been working at IA DOT for 38 years in the engineering/design department. This sausage making is a very addictive habit to have.

I’m a control Room operator at a Holcim cement plant. I run a kiln 2 raw mills and 2 finish mills. It’s a great job. I’m also a taxidermist and a volunteer fireman for the last 18 years. I also love this community. I have learned so much here and Waltons has by far the best quality products I’ve ever used. This might be the best subject I have read on here because I too have often wondered what everyone did for a living.
