I’m a Glenfiddich single malt guy. When it’s hot a tanqueray and diet dew brings out the hillbilly in me. Then there is my barrel aged Manhattan. A good old fashioned is hard to beat too. Quit drinking beer when I turned 21…

smokinbubba Everyone has their “preferences”. That’s what makes the world go round. But, I’m the person when we can go into a “bar or similar place” again that they always have to ask “what are you drinking tonight?”. Almost everyone else has their “goto”. But, it depends on the day for me because I can order just about anything depending the wind direction (scotch, bourbon, wine, beer, etc). Keep having fun with your taste buds with a little doctor advise.

“One bourbon, one scotch, and one beer”.

Yeah George Thorogood did a popular cover of the tune. The original goes back further than that though.

A lot of blues songs were originally written and performed by obscure performers. Only made famous years later by others. This one written in 1953 by Rudy Toombs and performed by Amos Milburn.

Gin and cola… wish I could stand diet cola but have not yet found one. Have to limit sugar so regular is out too.

smokinbubba I had a buddy that would drink gin and cola and I thought he was crazy. Years later I started making both cola and gin from scratch. The ingredient list is remarkably similar. They were made for each other. My favorite sugar free cola is Coke Zero. I think I’ll go to the kitchen and prepare said beverage!

processhead George T. It’s a classic from the late 70’s by the destroyers. Still relevant today. The previous was by Amos in the 60’s. But, I would think the origins go back into the 40’s for the actual original. People back then really knew how to write songs.

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

Joe Hell Re: Monkey Shoulder. In comparison to other Scotches, it’s very reasonable. At $33-34 vs some of the other scotches I have that at least double that price. It’s not the best I’ve tasted. But, for the price, pretty darn good.

My son gave me a bottle of Monkey Shoulder for Christmas. Its a pretty decent Scotch and I found myself pouring a couple fingers in the evening, drinking it neat.
I usually just drink Dewars on the rocks.

Joe Hell Re: Monkey Shoulder. In comparison to other Scotches, it’s very reasonable. At $33-34 vs some of the other scotches I have that at least double that price. It’s not the best I’ve tasted. But, for the price, pretty darn good.
