badfire2625 Regarding spirits and wine in general terms. As one whiskey curator and one vintner said very clearly: “That’s why there are sooooo many choices on the shelves. Find 1, 2, 3, etc that you like and enjoy. Also, listen to your taste buds instead of the experts and just enjoy.” I believe they are wise statements.

Very wise statements. Being in the business all these years I’ve been asked many times , what tastes best with whatever it might be. My answer is always the same. Whatever tastes good to you. If you like a cabernet with spaghetti, drink it. If you like a bourbon with it, same thing.

PapaSop But, with all of that being said, there are times when I almost gag at what some enjoy. Thinking that some like Jägermeister are just peer pressure. BTW: It’s only good in my book when it’s warm and the tummy is not feeling good. OK, that happened once in the last 2 years. LOL.

Jonathon s request, please list your drink of choice. I’ll start, I love bourbon and Coors Light or a good old Coors yellow belly. My bourbons of choice are Elijah Craig, Bulliet, Maker’s Mark, Jim Beam Black and W.L. Wellers. Now if I just want to pound down some drinks a good 7&7 can’t be beat.

Joe Hell Now, that’s a very nice arrangement. The Sazerac is the only one I couldn’t comment on. But, your taste buds were lit up nicely and understand about picking a winner. That’s why we always have someone who’s not partaking do the tallying. 😊

Jonathon I had a bit of an issue with my patty maker picture. I had to go back and make sure that the .jpg was showing, for some reason. I saw a .PORTRAIT.jpg suffix in that upload. Could that be it? Also, you gotta admit that’s a pretty patty maker in my post…

Jonathon Yes, it has been temperamental the last 3 days. I cannot determine the reason because all pics were equal in every reading except the picture itself. I know your people will determine the cause. Good luck.

Trying a new one here. At least new to me. Very good. Smooth. A little outside my normal price range but wtf. I was stimulated. It plays well with some 3yr aged Wi cheddar.

PapaSop Neat is always the first choice. But, a change is good for the taste buds. I just normally use some lesser spirits when I mix it.

PapaSop In the last year I’ve switched from ports and stouts to sours as my first choice. We shall see if that continues through the winter, sours feel more summer time to me for some reason but man are they good!
