General questions about first order.
-
Hey everyone. Other than introducing myself in the role call section, this is one of my first posts. I recently placed my first order with Walton’s and I have a couple questions. One being I have a packet of sure cure or some kind of curing agent that was in my box and I’m assuming that belongs with my Willie’s snack stick seasoning. Is that correct? All the other stuff that I got was just normal spices that could be used with fresh sausages or brats so that’s why I’m assuming the cure goes with the snack stick seasoning. My other question is about the extra Maple PSS that I ordered. After ordering it I wasn’t sure if that’s all I needed for and extra maple flavored breakfast sausage or if I had to add that to another breakfast sausage seasoning. I’m sure the fine folks in here will be able to answer these basic questions for a newbie like me LOL. Thank you.

I don’t know if that code is still active or not. My order was done between Christmas and New year’s. Thanks for your help!

blackbetty61 is right. The cure is all you have to have in a snack stick seasoning. If you wanted a binder or encapsulated citric acid (for the tangy flavor) you can use those, but at a minimum, you need seasoning and cure. The rest of the seasonings don’t require cure. On the Extra Maple PSS, that is all you need to make breakfast sausage, and you don’t mix with any other seasoning package. As for the coupon code… that was only valid on Christmas and the day after Christmas.
However, since I like to give an extra benefit to our Meatgistics users, here is another coupon for 10% off an order (up to $100 total discount), that anyone who reads this post can use until January 22nd!

Njlungbuster The extra maple deffinitely gives a stronger maple “flavor” (supposedly maple is only really experienced as a scent, but I digress) than the normal one BUT if you really want to up the flavor try adding a 1 Tablespoon of 100% real maple sugar to every 5 lbs when you are mixing it. This worked very well for us!
Welcome to the board and for anyone with something in their cart order now, because at the start of tomorrow we are removing the $5 flat rate shipping on orders over $75! I’ll make it’s own post so everyone sees it!

Jonathon that’s what we did too once was add syrup, but I think we used more that just a tablespoon I’m thinking it was a whole bottle for 50lb but wasn’t real maple syrup

blackbetty61 Yeah, I didn’t try it with the regular store-bought stuff, we used 100% Pure Maple Syrup which has less of s sugary taste but more of a maple flavor. I read your comment at first as if you added less than 1 Tablespoon to a whole 50 lb batch and I was thinking, well that couldn’t have done much! Now I see you added the entire bottle. That seems reasonable for a 50 lb batch
