RafterW I use DuckDuckGo for quite a bit. I probably need to get it downloaded on my Desktop. I have noticed that in DuckDuckGo Browser not everything shows up correctly all the time.

Tex_77 same with brave, especially local results with maps and finding business phone numbers. Its not nearly as convenient as google is but that is a cost I’m willing to deal with.

Yeah Brave is not going to give as good results for searching for local things, most of the time I am fine with that but I do sometimes still use Chrome on the phone when needed. I just realize that my assigned FBI agent is listening!

Jonathon , per your corn export statistics. I wanted to see how that context compared in regard to Kansas farms. You cited that 537 million bushels of corn are allocated to exports. Based on current production, Kansas could provide that in its entirety, with quite a bit to spare. According to K-State, Kansas is currently raising about 700 million bushels of corn each year, which puts us in 6th place nationwide! The US grows a massive amount of corn.

RafterW There is a relative large chunk of corn in between our areas that is going to be going away with new dairies coming in, and traditional corn and soybean circles will start getting planted to Alfalfa and feed for silage to support the dairies which in turn will supply the new cheese plant in Dodge with milk. I think a number I have heard is at least 27 circles are going to come out of corn. That will also have a huge impact on seed, fertilizer, chemical dealers as well as the local elevators that would traditionally handle those grain bushels.

Austin in regards to the meat theft in Nebraska that Jon clearly stole from my meat matters post, has Walton’s seen a large order of sure cure going to any new customers in Nebraska? Can’t let that meat go bad.

Jonathon its a very simple answer as to why the corn field you are looking at is short, we are in the middle of a drought and the temps have been running in the triple digit range for the most part!

Austin my son didn’t have a single tooth until he was 15 months old. He just turned two and they’ve all come in between 15 and 24 months. It was a rough several months when they were all cutting in at once!

Tex_77 I looked back at the corn fields by my house, and they are all about as tall as I am. Growth looks good. We’ve had a lot of water this year though out this way.

Austin are they irrigated? Is it sweet corn vs field corn? That could be the difference as well. There are a ton of variables that can affect things.

Not irrigated. No idea about sweet corn or field corn. You are more of an expert there than I am. Just looks tall to me! Lol!
