Austin Jonathon are we two going to have a shoot off to see who the better shot is?

Tex_77 I’m even game for this, but I will be using a real gun that shoots a mile accurately. 😏

One ragged hole groups from a .30 cal are easier to shoot than from a .22 cal. lol 😉

          Still, very nice.

So, these are from righttobear.com and the rest from palmetto state armory should arrive in about a week, then we shall see what I have ordered incorrectly!

Austin I am 100% down for this, obviously, I will have to shoot with mine a bit first though! On a related note I had an enormous victory yesterday. My wife and I were talking and she said “what was the small pistol that (a friend of ours) had when we went shooting” It was a .38 glock and when I asked her why and she said that “all the news about shootings recently has me thinking I don’t want to be unable to defend myself” I cried in pride and we are now pricing .38s for her! All of my 2A subliminal messaging with her has started to pay off!

Jonathon After you get the gun, be sure to get extra ammunition and get out and get your wife familiar with the gun. Only problem I see is if she is like my wife, you will be doing less shooting and more loading of magazines.

bocephus Our friend had an AR and an FN SCAR and she wasnt interested in shooting either, she did put about 50 rounds through that little glock .38 though. I am still hopeful, having her want her own hand gun is a HUGE step!

Jonathon When I was dating my wife and first married my wife wouldn’t touch a gun, now she owns a few and loves to shoot. If you are interested in seeing her shoot more try a 22 rifle, my wife has a 10/22 and absolutely loves it, my sister in law shot it when visiting and then my brother had to buy her one and still blames me.

Jonathon It’s an easy build and after you do 1 you will be up to 4 like me in pretty short order. Also, don’t be surprised if it jams a few times at first; it always seems like I need to put 50-100 rounds thru it before it truly worked great. And, lots of ammo can go thru it pretty fast, leaving you wondering how your out of ammo already!

Pretty rare to hear references to .38 caliber semi auto pistols although technically 9mm para. is a nominal. 38 cal. diameter projectile.

At first it seemed Jonathon was talking about the compact .45 ACP, or maybe a case of confusion.
Can’t imagine Mrs. Trembley enjoying as session with a compact .45.

I was wondering the same thing.
Pretty rare to hear references to .38 caliber semi auto pistols although technically 9mm para. is a nominal. 38 cal. diameter projectile.

processhead .38 ACP 1911 story time. As a young Sergeant assigned to the range, I was the only one working on the range when a local historic park employee brought in a confiscated Colt 1911 .38 ACP that the Dayton Police Department took off of John Dillinger when he was arrested in 1933. They were asking me to disable the gun by welding the barrel or some other permanent disabling measure. After begging them not to ever do that, I figured out a way to disable it without destroying it. I don’t want to get into details since the gun is still on display. I told them I would need a few minutes and of course began looking for any .38 ACP we might have had in our ammo inventory. Well maybe I did and maybe I didn’t get to fire one round out of the gun before disabling it. So about 71 years after his arrest, I can say that I disabled John Dillinger’s 1911 .38 and kept it’s historic value. The gun had been engraved and awarded by the Courts to the then Chief of Police Rudy Wurstner. Chief Wurstner’s family donated the gun to Dayton History and even included a copy of the Jewelry shop receipt when it was engraved for Chief Wurstner. The last time I visited, the gun was still on display at Carillon Historical Park. What an interesting opportunity to handle a piece of history. Sure doesn’t happen every day.
