🇺🇸Happy Memorial Day! Thank you U-S-Veterans for your service and sacrifice!

Take time today to remember those who have served and those who never made it home from fighting for the freedoms we enjoy today🇺🇲

            Add my thanks and admiration

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day
Teach a man to fish and he drinks beer for a lifetime

glen Yup, admiration is a good point. As I get older the things that can really “get me” tend to be based around self-sacrifice, and there isn’t really another profession that requires as much sacrifice as being in the Military, so, Hats off to you gents, thank you!

I may get slammed for this but that’s ok, I take it a bit personal. Although I know the intentions and thoughts are good, how ever today (Memorial Day) is to recognize and remember the fallen soldiers and the sacrifices that were made. It is a somber day of remembrance. I don’t see it as a “Happy” day. Veterans Day is more of a celebration and recognition for their service. Independence Day is a day of celebration for our nationhood.

Some holidays we celebrate, others we solemnly observe.

twilliams Unfortunately most under 40 have no skin in the game… Draft stopped in 1974. Most watch the news and conflicts with Ukraine as a sports game, not carnage and death… Way too many have no value on being an American Citizen… Never lived in or saw a 3rd world country in person outside of the tourist walls and Umbrella drinks of a cruise… Just my opine… Cheers

twilliams I have always thought this too. Especially after a guy who I went to high school with was killed in Iraq in 2004. It is a very somber day of remembrance for me.
