Why so limiting as to “Will it BBQ,” what about “Will it fry?”

Tex_77 It’s easier to BBQ things often than having to mess with oil, etc. But yes I can see your vision!

100% frying can be in that as well. More ways to use chicken on the run!

Bread! I think we need to try making a loaf of sourdough or something on the smoker.

Austin I’ve been baking bread on my Traegers for years. Comes out with a nice smoky top crust. The wife does her pumpkin pies on the Traeger as well. Delicious!

GWG8541 We regularly make pizza in the smoker, just no moisture & high heat, just a little smoke. I would like to try one of those ceramic/Kamado cookers for pizza, I can imagine that might be closer to a brick oven with wood.

GWG8541 Yes, I agree, that pizza stone really helps a lot. We have one too, but we bought it to fit an oven we had about 25 years ago & it will not git in this smoker or this oven, but I hate to get rid of it & have not looked too hard for a smaller stone, although I know they are out there. You are right though; they really make a difference on keeping that heat even. I wonder how cast iron would work if they had one like that? I am thinking it might be similar to the stone.

calldoctoday it would be worth a shot. I have a Visions Kamado accessory set that had a pizza stone with it. I got lucky and picked it up at Sam’s a few years back when they were clearing them out.

GWG8541 Oh yes, I saw those & wanted one, but Margaret said, no, at the time. Then when she finally said yes, they went way up on the price & then discontinued them. Another time, another channel.
