GWG8541 Sorry that I had the forester at around 100. My bad. But, sippin’ either one is just pure relaxation. Have some people coming over tomorrow afternoon for a tasting. One will be a Beam. Don’t know what I will pull out of the arsenal for the other 4. But, it really doesn’t matter as long as the group has fun with it.

zbigjeff I definitely recommend the Old Forester Prohibition. Its was also surprisingly smooth for the proof. Im not a fan of the high rye content, but especially on the higher proofs. It gives that peppery taste with the heat. I love black pepper in my food, but not my whiskey.

HerbcoFood that can lead to the old Hillbilly cliché of “hair of the dog that bit you”.

GWG8541 I was in that boat today. Similar issue, but I decided it was better not make a decision. I had a sample or two of all three, I didn’t want them to spoil. Now I am going to have to replace one during my travels this weekend.

If you haven’t yet, you need to watch Heist on Netflix, one of the topics covered is Pappy Gate from the early 2000’s. Pretty damn interesting how long the bourbon craze has been going on.

GWG8541 I’d go with the Old Forester. I tried a little George Keel 115, small batch, recently & it was pretty good.

Gentlemens Jack and black walnut bitters old fashioned. First time trying these bitters. They’re interesting.

Surg the black walnut bitters sounds interesting, never tried them before. That ale finished in 4 Roses barrels sounds worth taking a chance on also. Let us know how they both are.
