Tex_77 1 cup flour,2 tsp baking powder,1 egg, 1/3 cup lime juice and 1/3+ cup water, pinch of salt, pinch of ground red pepper. Mix until smooth. First time I’ve tried it, basically beer batter just swapping the beer with lime juice. Really tasty!

Grilled a flank steak for supper last. Seasoned with bourbon smoked salt and gaucho rub. I grilled it on my PK 360 over B&B Oak briquettes. Served it with a rustic chimichurri.

Tex_77 Looks great & really tasty. I like em fresh off the fire & coated with a little Chimichuri & right into the old mouth, um, um! Where in the devil dd you find some flank steak at a fair price?

Jonathon hmmmm, I am impressed. Someone deserves a genuine pat on the back!

Margaret has been making some really good BLT’s for the past week or so, every other day with those delicious German Queen & Cherokee Purple Tomatoes from the garden. They are really, really good on a good ol BLT. But, I am going to be fatter than a show dog if I keep that up. Maybe I just need to go for the mater samwiches!

Jonathon that’s a lot of frosting. Someone was busy doing some fancy decorating.

Finally had opportunity to use the BGE this year. First grilling day of the year. A couple of bone in strips with some mushrooms and onions along with a side of grilled asparagus rafts.

YooperDog looks great. Asparagus is growing like nuts over here. Hard to beat fresh asparagus.
kyle We are on the tail end of our asparagus season. I’ve been trying to eat as much as possible. A friend suggested eating it raw…it’s surprisingly good! I think it would make for a great addition in cold salad with oil and vinegar. It has good crunch and a fresh green flavor.

YooperDog Somebody’s been spending some time honing in on “proper plating” from the Food Network.

Joe Hell it is good raw in salad. I make a chicken coleslaw salad and used raw asparagus instead of pea pods when its in season. Soon I will let it go to seed. My grandpa used to say that it was good for the patch.

Joe Hell if your interested,
1/4 cup veg oil
3T sugar
2T red wine vinegar
1T soy sauce
1/4 lb pea pods
3 cups coleslaw (just the cabbage that comes in a bag)
10 oz chicken
1/2 cup sliced almonds
whisk wet ingredients and sugar then mix in with the rest. It is a very refreshing salad when its hot out . I eat it as a meal, great for camping -
