Re: buck board bacon Can the Dry Rub Bacon Cure be used to make Buckboard Bacon provided you let it cure a little longer due to its thickness?

I can’t answer your specific question on the Dry Rub Bacon cure but I did make some a while back and gave my results. While I can’t say positively, I’m 99% sure I used this recipe.

jbarrone It could be used, the real question is how long would you have to leave a dry rub bacon rub on a pork butt to properly cure it. I would say it would be much easier to inject it than try to dry rub it. If you can wait a few days to a week I might have a better answer for you on how long you should hold it for.
