Took my 9 year old neighbor boy aka fishing buddy, on the Missouri River yesterday. We typically go on Friday, but he was busy with other activities, so a Saturday trip was planned. We kept 24 and he caught 4 of the 5 bigger fish and the best one was 6.25#. This kid is ready to go at 6:30am would spend all day in the boat. He was shaking from excitement after catching the bigger fish, trying to beat his record of 6.5#.Spidey Congratulations to you for connecting the youth to the outdoors, the smiles on both your faces says it all.

He got the biggest kick when we would bring up 3-4 at a time on spreaders. I heard tales of me not sleeping the whole night before each outing. I’m smiling for YOU!!! Way to go DAD.

I do a yearly fishing tournament through a local professional association I’m a member of, it’s really for fun and to get see people I don’t see often. They have different categories to turn fish in on to win some money. The fishing was absolutely horrible yesterday, I was the only person to turn in a slot red. So guess who got the checks for 1st, 2nd and 3rd……ME! Who would have thought a barely 3lb red was worth that much money!

HerbcoFood Congrats. never heard of winning three places with one fish. Your lucky day!

Jonathon Same with my group of friends, you better have thick skin if you were going to hang with that crowd, but it was all in good fun. Also my friends at work were the same way, some people would sit in with us and think that we were mad at each other but we were just having fun.

Likewise here. With my friends, if one of them is civil or polite, we take their temperature, cuz that’s just not normal.

Jonathon We will continue that thought daily on this site. I love it.

We are camping with our camping club this week and that’s about all we do is poke at each other. All in good fun. Rule is if you dish it, you have to take it.

wdaly Love it when a group looks for the tiniest opening and people are not “offended” easily. I totally dislike having to walk around on eggshells.

Sounds like the bunch I hang around with. Wit and friendly jabs are common occurrence and you need thick skin.
