Not the Gun I was hoping to show you guys a picture of but somehow neither Austin or I won a gun up at Rendezvous…seems suspicious! We did some testing on this and I am very curious as to how snack sticks would work with this thing, the lever depress was really smooth and easy. At 1.5 lb capacity you’d go made reloading it for large batches, but for smaller ones? Maybe!

I think there are some practical limitations on how large you can make this style of gun. Much larger than this one, and you no longer have something that can be operated easily by hand.

Still, I think this would be a good tool for making restructured jerky and would be convenient for squeezing out meat strips onto a screen for the smoker or dehydrator.

When you are done, you can even caulk your windows with it.

Personally, I prefer whole-muscle style jerky and I have no experience with restructured jerky other than what I have read and what people have told me.

Jonathon I use a virtually identical gun for snack sticks and jerky when less than 5 lbs.
A great help is to is to roll the farce into short cylinders that drop in then tamp after every other one with my grinder tamper.

Jonathon I made a Jerky nozzle that fits on my 5 lb sausage stuffer. Haven’t used my jerky gun since

I have the Weston version of the same thing and use it to stuff the last of the snack stick meat or brat meat that doesn’t go through the stuffer. Works great for what I want it to do. Would not want to use it for a large batch. You would need “The Hulk” sized forearms to get the job done.

Brianzipperdog123 Can you post a picture of it? I tried something similar when I made langjaeger the first time but the meat just left that form and went back to being round! It is a good idea though. How do you deal with the meat bunching up, do you have someone move some butcher paper away from it?

Tex_77 Another use for the Stuffer Flusher!

johnsbrewhouse We almost brought 2 in and called them the shotguns and had 1 12 gauge and 1 20 gauge but we figured the non gun owner would think the 20 would be bigger so we stayed safe.

I am 100% going to talk to our product manager about an electric one!

OKay, he had already been down this road and the price is a little ridiculous for what you get. It seems that they are all battery operated too which isn’t a value add in my mind. Meat processing equipment needs to be plugged in, not charged! Me caveman, me like fire and rock, no want fancy metal tool!
