I don’t even have the garden tilled yet! -
You are very lucky. In the Upper Peninsula of Michigan we still have snow on the ground and ice on the lakes.

Thanks to all. Just need to get out of this near drought around here. I’m lucky in that I can pump water from our creek up here to water garden and yard. Creek is bigger than some rivers, lol . I keep my boat in the boat house on it. Trinity River Authority only charges 50$ a year to do it!

Looking good! Mine is up and growing, but you are way ahead of me as my tomatoes are only about a foot tall and my squash are about half the size of yours and no blooms yet. It is so dry where I am right now I am really having to water often. Hoping mother nature will give me some good moisture soon.

banger king where in UP do you hail from? I am near the Marquette area. Still have some snow but the rain is doing it’s job. The river’s are open and trout season is here.

calldoctoday I hear that. My seedlings need to pot up now but are still only 5 to 6 inches tall. To much rain in Missouri.

scottfletcher Our plants are coming right along, but where I fill, the squirrels or armadillos have been getting into them something terrible this year. Must be a sign that squirrel or armadillo stew is in the horizon!

I’m in Iron. Since I posted my comment the warm weather has teken care of the lakes and the snow and I have started to get a little more enthused about the garden. I even got a few tomato plants at Menards yeserday. Still too cold to be ouside, I have them in my greenhouse but looking forward to summer.

Hoping to get things going today. It’s 40 degrees this morning, snowing in the mountains and they just extended the ski season at one resort until the end of the month. Got to load gravel in the bottoms of the troughs and then the soil. Then everything should be ready to plant. The raised beds have been tilled, just need to be raked and weeds pulled out. I have my only crop, the cilantro that doesn’t seem to mind sub-freezing weather. Have to work the compost bin too, that’s where my pumpkins grow and it’s full of chickweed right now.

johnsbrewhouse We just got back from a long run & I am worn out. Looked at the garden real quick & we got maters, some peppers, huge onions & lots of them, & green beans are trying.

calldoctoday We had frost this morning and it was 32 degrees when I got up and about. The sun comes up around 5 am here so the temperature was probably lower last night. I was going to plant yesterday, but the rain took care of that and good thing. I’ll just wait a couple of days. Rest up and enjoy your bounty.

Wow, can’t plant here until May 15. I remember staggering my planting in Louisiana to spread out harvest. No need in IL.

johnsbrewhouse Well, we could probably use just a bit of that too & kill off some of those bugs!

calldoctoday They live through it up here, mosquitos seem to thrive on the cold and the wasps just slow down. The wasps just coming out a couple of weeks ago. The neighbors bee’s have been busy for a couple of months.

johnsbrewhouse I understand. I went to Minnesota a few times & Wisconsin. Loved it & great fishing to help the work out, but I was shocked at how big the Musquitos were. They are still meaner in Louisiana & Texas, even though smaller. In Louisiana they really gang up on you though.
