JoeB kyle On Easter Sunday, I learned my nephews daughter of 8 years old has decided she is now one of the many types of vegetarians. The one that apparently eats fish and eggs etc
not sure how that is vegetarian, but anyway, after hearing the rhetoric from her mother trying to justify her position, kyle signature popped in my head and I simply replied with “Guess what, my food poops on your food”. She had to think about it a minute, but said “that’s gross”. I replied with a sincere “exactly”. She used to be my favorite grand niece. Oh well. 😁

Working on my smoked meatloaf, just put it in the smoker to firm up before I pop it out of the loaf pan and put it on the flat sheet to finish. Should be ready in 3 or so hours. Pictures to follow hopefully. IMG_0400.JPG IMG_0399.JPG Added some smoked cheddar to the top just before I pulled it from the smoker and had some mushrooms in the fridge that needed to be used, so I threw them on the pan while the meatloaf smoked too. The wife won’t eat mushrooms, more for me. Especially good when cooked in beef fat from the meatloaf.

I haven’t had a good hamburger in a while, so tonight we had hand cut French fries seasoned lightly with Old Bay seasoning and fried in the CI skillet. The burgers were also done in the same CI and were just seasoned with SPG and were about 6 oz each patty. I added some smoked cheddar cheese and man were they tasty.

GWG8541 You disrupted her indoctrination with fact OMG
I had a dietitian tell me i eat too much meat and should only have 3-4 oz a week. With a straight face, and eye to eye ,I pointed out my eye teeth and said " God gave me these to rip flesh
And my Dad said use it or loose it Son" She canceled all future appointments
I’m soooo misinformed, and soooo dumb i truly believe I’m smart. I’m sure the Dietitian will eventually recover

JoeB my mom was a dietician and never told we ate to much red meat. She lived to 91 and her father to 96 eating meats. She always made sure we had balanced meals, although I came from the times where we were made to clean our plates entirely, thus my former weight problem. I don’t blame my mom, it was the culture of the times.

johnsbrewhouse JoeB my dad died at 91 and his dad at 99. Both grew up on the farm eating beef, pork, chicken and all types of wild animals. I was visiting my Grandad when he was about 90. We were setting on the couch after dinner watching the evening news. It was one of the national mainstream news outlets and the reporter was doing a story about the health hazards of eating red meat, especially bacon. Grandad chuckled as he looked at me and said, “I wish they would have told me that 90 years ago”. I got a good laugh from that comment and never forgot it.

I was going to fire up the grill for the first time this year, rain started, no problem. Well that changed to snow and it is sticking. So back to CI and the stove. Cooked up a T-bone and a cowboy ribeye and added some sides, life is good.

Especially good when cooked in beef fat from the meatloaf.

johnsbrewhouse that meatloaf looked fantastic. Smoked cheese to top it off. Man O Man it doesn’t get much better.

I was going to fire up the grill for the first time this year, rain started, no problem. Well that changed to snow and it is sticking. So back to CI and the stove. Cooked up a T-bone and a cowboy ribeye and added some sides, life is good.

YooperDog nothing wrong with the old CI. I love a steak done in a CI just as much as a grilling one. That meal looks great.

                                          My Bad Chefs!
I’ve been under the gun cleaning and getting the house in order for the arrival of our one and only child with our only 2 littles. I’ve been preparing for a BBQ spread to the likes that none have seen before! The weather was looking Great a week ago, now it has went way South! Looks like we are going to have an overwhelming house full now with nowhere to put them!
