Specials at US Foods/Chiefs Food Store 9/27-10/10 Briskets for $3.99 lb. (probably select they never say in the ads) and bone in pork butts at $1.49 lb… Of course with us here where I live it depends on whether or not they are getting stock from the UNFI distribution center.

Saw some T-Bone Strip Loin for $5.25/lbs. Bought it and got them to cut some 2” slabs. Average weight is 2.4lbs per steak. I’ll be having a feast

Grimpuppy Restaurant Depot is a wholesale cash and carry commercial restaurant and food service supplier.

While the best deals are on case quantities, cases can be broken. When meats and produce are nearing their expiration date, great deals can be had. I’ve gotten strip loins for as low as $2.79 for choice and rib loin for about $4.00.

Can also get many items that are not available in typical retail stores.

There are three locations in the Houston area.

Chef You need to get them to open up one in SE Alabama. They finally brought Academy here after several years & even a few letters. Then the corporation apparently changed & it is not even close to what it used to be.

Feb 2020 we purchased a side of beef from a local farm and just this past Sat I was pan frying a tenderloin I found in the freezer from that cow. Was talking to the wife about this thread and in particular Grimpuppy’s original post about the $18/# steaks. Then we also considered how some of the other members of this community were expressing interest in farm fresh meats.

If there is a legitimate interest then I’ll just throw out there that we will be harvesting some pork in the near future and are willing to entertain a discussion about the options. Selling uninspected processed meat direct to consumers has some legal consequences, but I believe I can sell you a pig and help you harvest your pig.

gus4416 I just bought a quarter of beef about a month ago. The guy gave us a good deal. $2.25/lb hanging weight and then the locker plant was a $1/lb for cutting and wrapping. I like buying right off the farm so much better. The quality is by far superior.
