samspade In all honesty the 20 would have worked fine for me, but my body is just too wore out to be cranking a handle, so I went with the motorized function and I absolutely do not regret it.

mrobisr 15 years ago I would have laughed at needing another machine to power there turning of the handle…now I sweat if I have to turn the crank manually on a sausage stuffer. I spoke to Rebecca Thisthlewaite yesterday for the podcast. She works with Oregon State University and their Niche Meat Processing Assistance (https://www.nichemeatprocessing.org/) she takes health as seriously as I used to. Sort of inspired me to get back into shape. Shes probably my age and looks significantly younger!

Adding a grinder drivin meat mixer was a game changer for me. I’m still using a hand crank stuffer but have started looking at an electric one, lol. No problem for sausage but I really enjoy my snack sticks.

Jonathon when I was active duty and in superior condition I didn’t even own and electric grinder. I butchered pigs, calves, and deer and used the hand turned grinder, but that’s probably why my body is worn out, too many push-ups and hand turning tools. That’s a very interesting link, thanks.

I think getting older just means prioritizing the hand cranks you’d like to automate. Mixing or stuffing? Eventually I figure it will be both.

Can’t seem to find a picture of the mixer that will give me an idea of whether or not it will hook up to my grinder. The description leads me to believe it is capable of being hooked up with grinders that are not Walton’s. Can anyone confirm that? I have a #22 Torrey commercial table top grinder.

There is another thread here somewhere of someone successfully hooking that up to a cabelas grinder, using a piece of pvc to shim diameter differences

Jamieson22 I think it would. I believe it is the same mixer as the LEM, and also the same mixer that Meat! sells. Just looking at pics and reading specs. LEM mixers hook up to LEM grinders, and I’ve seen 2 threads here showing this 50lb mixer hooked up to Cabelas, which is same as Weston and Meat basically.

I wish Walton’s sold the 20lb one that hooks up to grinder, LEM has that one also. I bought the 20 or 25lb mixer from Meat before I saw Walton’s or LEM .

Ordered the Walton’s 50# mixer last night. Got a good deal with it being on sale and having the live stream coupon. Excited to add it to my line-up. I don’t think it will work with my current grinder, but that’s OK for now.

Ordered the Walton’s 50# mixer last night. Got a good deal with it being on sale and having the live stream coupon. Excited to add it to my line-up. I don’t think it will work with my current grinder, but that’s OK for now.

Darn, missed the live stream yesterday as I had to take car to shop. What is the coupon? I may bite.
