How about having a contest for the best caricature drawing to be put on the label? Some of these folks are extremely talented it would be fun too.

Hell of an idea Jonathon , I just don’t know if Austin would like it. I would totally turn in a stick figure drawing!

mrobisr Sadly no, we had to go to a completely different company for this build. The ones who make our current stuffers just were not interested in making any changes. We love our stuffers but we tried their version of an electric sausage stuffer in the past and it wasn’t long before we stopped carrying it. It didn’t have the power, or the reliability to function how we wanted it to. So, we went and found a company that was interested in customizing some stuff. That is nothing against the company we use for the regular stuffers, they do a good job at what they do, but they weren’t willing to make the changes we felt were necessary for this model.
The label thing would be an Austin call, obviously, it would at least make me laugh but we have avoided doing any personalized stuff in the past simply for longevity and ease of transition. Obviously, I don’t have any plans to leave Walton’s but probably shouldn’t be putting my name on a product, unless we are talking about my “sort of” last name, Walton!
Also, I know you guys would willy exaggerate the size of my forehead and nose, and make me ridiculously short for any type of caricature!

This was a great podcast. North Dakota even got a shout out from Austin. Austin you talked about shop class in High School. I was very lucky to go to a high school that had a great Ag/Shop curriculum. We even had a meat processing class that lasted the full semester for two hours a day. It was my favorite class in high school

back when I was in high school they had a Compleat wood , metal shop and mechanical drawing /drafting classes sadly the auto shop was no more and turned into a study hall this was in the 70’s back when you could find 202 & bowtie heads and 4 bolt mains ,Hemi’s in the junk yards

craigrice I went to a tech and trade HS. Everything from aviation to welding, at least a dozen programs if I remember correctly. Even a couple that offered apprenticeship opportunities. Sadly it is gone and a traditional HS was built in it’s place. I had friends working good jobs part time as juniors in their chosen fields.

ND Mike I still have a deacon’s bench that I made in high school wood shop, a cutting board my wife made in wood shop and a toolbox and jack stands I made in metal shop. They are 45 years old and all in good condition.

bocephus I think my Dad has the stuff I made. I made a small step stool, a tool box, a electric cord wrap, a welding chipping hammer, and a C-clamp. I’m sure I made more stuff but that is what I remember.
